I was watching this but I'm thinking of downsizing my collection rather than adding to!
They are one of the nicest shooting guns out there when the gun is in working order I have a couple and a couple hw50M's from ARH that are just sweet shooters. A mid 200.00 price for one is almost a no brainer for these that appreciate them! Enjoy that classic !

I think I remember your username from the good ol days on the Yellow and Dianawerk Collective. Did you have a beautiful D38?This HW50S is a 1972 model. It came to me with a square section spring that fits the guide nicely but is unclosed on one end. The original leather piston seal is in fine shape, but the breech seal was beat. I cleaned it out, relubed it, and installed an ARH breech seal. A mild thunk sends JSB 7.87 at 625fps with near match accuracy. I may try to respring it to factory specs up near 700fps someday, but I'm in no hurry because it shoots do darned nice as is.
Nice score Dan!!I bought my 1977 HW50S in parts, but all original to the same gun. The ebay seller thought he could get more for it by parting it out, but I talked him into making a deal on the whole of the parts, HOWEVER, minus the original spring.Since you stated you may re-spring yours to original spec's, can you suggest a proper spring for mine? Mine has an ARH that Jim Maccari suggested for it, but it shoots rather harshly and I'd like to smooth it out.Any suggestion for a decent spring kit would be much appreciated.FWIW, here's my pimped out HW50S, LOL.
I might be wrong about my E3650 idea. I just took The 1972 apart. The guide in it measured .530 and is too big for the E3650 or Merlin.
