      I found my Super Lube at Harbor Freight for $6.99.  Works great on the outside of springer piston seals too.  I have not had any detonation when using a very light coat.

I use the 3oz tubes of permatex dielectric grease.. fancy name for silicone grease. I get it at autozone they sometimes have coupons. Walmart has the 3oz for $6.15 right now..

Is anyone using Permatex Anti-Seize on the threaded parts of air guns or is there a better product?
I always thought that Super Lube was a acceptable product but now I am concerned after following this thread.

I would not want to use the Permatex antisieze in a place where it could get into the air reservoir, as it does have petroleum products in it.  You should be good with Superlube as it is not just silcone grease, but silicone grease with PTFE in it.  I think that is perfect for that application, and that is why I am picking some up for any future teardowns and repairs.

Actually Superlube come in multi purpose synthetic with PTFE and  silicone formulations. (among others)  They are not the same product.
Both are synthetic and "should" be detonation free. 

MP is for metal.  Silicone is for rubber, plastics, O rings, sealing electrical connections.
They are both Kosher approved products!
