Recommendations for 1377 valve upgrade, please

I've purchased a brand new Crosman 1377, however, it's restricted to 495 fps like the Canadian version - around 3.5 ft/ib.

Here in the UK, it seems we're now lumbered with this watered down model, and the 600 fps model is now a thing of the past.

The older 600 fps model achieved around 5ft/ib and I was happy with that.

I'm looking to remove the valve & replace it with something plug & play that'll bring the pistol up to a nice power.

There isn't a lot available here in the UK for aftermarket mods, so it looks like I'll be purchasing from the America's or similar.

Can anyone recommend any valves & sellers that will fit the bill and are virtually "plug & play"?

Yes, GMAC are still trading over here, however, they're out of stock of modified valves just now.

I see Alchemy Airwerks sell a couple of different valves, including a "Pump RP". Is there a specific valve you recommend?

I also see there's a company called Alliance Hobby that sells a fair amount of 13xx gear.

Do you know if the "Pump RP pack" he sells would fit the bill? It comprises; Pump RP Valve, Power Hammer Spring & Boss +25% Port.

As long as I can achieve around 600 fps, around 5ft/ib, I'll be more than happy.

I've found a "Crosman 1377 1322 SuperPack Pump RP Valve, Power Hammer Spring & Boss +25% Port" available from Alchemy, however, there's little to no information about this on the web.

I have one of Alchmey's flat top valves in my 1377 and get about 620fps with ten pumps, the valve you are looking at is a more improved valve than what I have and you don't have to use a flat top piston, you use the piston that came with the gun. He has opened and angled the transfer port more so there is better air flow and dumps all the air at one time. It's simple, just take the old valve out and put new one in. The spring is a little heavier than the original one so you will have more hammer power. The transfer port has opened up more for better air flow. I am the process of building another 1377 for power and that will be the way I will go with it. David is a great guy to deal with and very helpful. I have purchased from Alliance Hobby as well and never had any problems with them either.

The tin can I was shooting was placed at 50yds. I was punching through it. This is after I installed the valve. This the first time I was able to reach out beyond 20yds with this gun. The gun is a rear cocker 1377, it's over 30 years old and still going strong.

Personally I would recommend contacting Dave at Alchemy. He is a great guy to deal with and is more than willing to talk with you, explain his products and offer advice to make sure you get something you will be satisfied with!!

I got a reply from Alchemy Airwerks & he told me I'll achieve 600fps at 10 pumps, and over 700fps at 20 pumps with the "Pump RP valve pack" I mentioned.

I've ordered one now & it was quite a nice price including shipping.

I really can't be bothered tapping holes/threads in the current valve, then inserting screws to plug up the bleed hole, hence me buying this.

I'll be over the moon with 600 fps at 10 pumps, as it's gonna be a huge leap in performance terms compared to this restricted valve I have now that's probably doing around 450 at best.

I just need to stop spending now, as I've spent nearly £200 (c $300) on custom parts for my 1377 & 2240, and I've only had them for about a week.

My wife will divorce me if she checks my PayPal account.

Alright guys,

My chrony arrived this morning, so I got around to obtaining some figures on my stock 1377.

I'm using RWS Superdome 8.3g pellets & 10 pumps, and all 3 shots were under 3.5ft/ib.

These figures have definitely geed me up to get the mods underway to get this to just under the UK legal limit of 6ft/ibs.

I've got custom made TP's of 2.5, 2.8, 2.9, 3.00, and 3.4 mm to test in addition to a Pump RP valve from Alchemy Airwerks.

Here are the figures to show just how watered down the UK and Canadian models are.
