As far as I can tell, there are currently 4 variants of the 2100. The Legacy being the lowest cost, the 2100X next in line, the 2100 B, and then the Remington Air Master 77 (I think).
I ordered a 2100X and received it today. As far as I can tell, the difference between the X and the Legacy is one, the color of the stock is brown on the X, and 2, the receiver is metal whereas the Legacy is plastic. The B model has the wood grain style stock (perhaps slightly thicker plastic?), and of course the AM77 ias black stock and silver barrel with "Remington" branded receiver.
The top of the user manual states 2100/CLGY100/AM77, and so up 800 FPS/12 pumps on all the newer models.
A few quick shots over the chrony using Crosman Wadcutters and with 12 pumps 761.5 FPS. 5 pumps really was very nice hitting 610 FPS which is all one of my ancient AM77's does pumped 10!
I did also send across the chrony a very old Crosman 4.0gr SSP for the fun of it with 12 pumps. I am not sure they make this pellet any more, but it hit 927.6 FPS - but of course, good luck hitting anything with it.
I used up some Amazon points, and got what I feel is a very decent air gun for the price. They are currently priced $54 and some change, and now I will watch the listing, because I am QUITE SURE I will NEED another in my collection!
All for now,
Tim

What elevation are you shooting at? Does the 2100X have a plastic or metal piston? I've got the 2100B (a older 10 pump gun) and it is a little anemic.

I am at 981' Geo. The 2100X is plastic, so that to may be different than the 2100 B (I don't own a current 2100 B to look at).

I thought the X came with extra shooting accessories. My older AM77 came with similar stuff.
Maybe, the X you got is new older stock that the seller was trying to sell off. Lucky, with that metal receiver.
