Plenum for the Diana Skyhawk/ Artemis P15 (.22cal)?
I have a Skyhawk .22 with a LW choked barrel, and a Huma regulator installed by the former owner (AoA might have done the work).
Now, I’m considering getting an extended plenum. And I’m stumped:
Going to the Huma website I see they give you
two options
:
(a)
Buy just a regulator (85€)
https://www.huma-air.com/Artemis-P15-tuning-pressure-regulator
(b)
Buy regulator with a plenum extension (for only about 12$ more, 95€)
https://www.huma-air.com/Artemis-P15-Power-Tune-Regulator-XL-Plenum-Set
After webmailing Huma their answers were a little terse and counterintuitive, but IF I understand them correctly: They sell two Diana/P15 regulators, and they are different. Their plenum for the regulator – option (b) – does not work with the Huma regulator that I have – option (a). That seems counterintuitive – why would they design a regulator, and then just to slap on a 12-dollar plenum, they’d design a whole new regulator?
QUESTION 1:
Can maybe someone explain or confirm this?
QUESTION 2:
So, what other options are there to get an extended plenum? Sorry, I can’t send the gun to some tuner, it’s on another continent...!
Thanks for your help!

Your options are this. Take your gun apart and measure your tube then order the the proper high power reg with the bigger plenum. Your other option is to shoot what the gun was intended to shoot, 18gr pellets and your gun the way it is will shoot them as fast as they can be shot before they become unstable. Huma makes the standard reg for 90% of .22 owners and 100% of .177 owners who are happy with the guns power output.

Matthias,
I don’t really know which option you should take.
My 22 Skyhawk as you know is doing 47 FPE with 145 bar on the Huma and Lee’s 25 cal plenum with the 25 grain JSB’s.
Before the plenum, with stock barrel, it shot 18 grains at just over 800 FPS, yes now I can shoot 18 grain JSB’s beyond accuracy, but I can always turn it down, at 47 FPE it shoots 25 and 34 grains into tiny holes.
If I back out the hammer spring to flush, I get pre plenum velocities, just because you have all that air available, you don’t need to use it if you just wish to plink, it is the best of both worlds despite what the nay sayers try to portray.
Matthias go for it my friend however you need to do it, you will not regret it.
Did you ever cut down that butt stock?

Roachcreek,
good to hear from you!
Yeah, well, I didn't get much responses to my question, I guess, and on GTA more than on AGN -- virtually none...!
So, yeah, I was debating right up to clicking the put-in-cart button today at the HUMA site for a PP700 regulator. I NEED that one, the OEM is plain junk as testing showed.
So, another
100 bucks
for a regulator that I already have(!), but which is not compatible with HUMA's
15$
plenum...?
Yeah, I couldn't bring myself to do it, I got a kid in college, and another one almost.
So, I'm just hoping that one of the many slugs I also bought in the last few days WILL WORK in the Skyhawk.
Because if I can get JUST ONE SLUG to group well at 100 yards, say 2 inch groups (10 shots, minus 10% flyers), then I'm all good with the 30FPE I have right now.
For pellets I don't really need more power, and if a slug works at 30FPE, then I get to keep the gun at this mid-high power, meaning more shots, and quieter, two things that
are
important to me.
With NSA putting out 6 affordable slug models in two sizes, and Griffin putting out really light slugs for 15 cents a shot (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 grainers), I'm very excited. Even springer shooters and low-power PCP's can become slug shooters!!
Happy shooting!
Matthias
