In a gun such as Travis is showing yes!


In a gun such as in your avatar, No. The monoblock is anodised alu. and any polishing int he block will remove some or all of it, making the surface fast to gaul.

I am having issues with the hammer adjusting screw not staying put when firing the rifle, so I have to pull the rifle apart and was thinking of polishing the hammer while I have it out of the gun and maybe polishing inside the tube the hammer slides in. I wasn't aware the hammer and the tube it slides in was aluminum. I will leave it alone then and just wrap the adjuster screw with thread tape then.

I polsih the ahmmer and tube it runs in for most of the guns I have (that I can do that mod to...)

IMO you need to burnsih in some moly or one of the hi-tech metal conditioners after you smooth the metal out.

Knife, that is a NovaStar and the hammer tube is stamped steel. The hammer in mine was horrible and after I polished both the hammer and tube the cocking effort went down and became very smooth. I did lightly lube the tube with graphite.

Should work fine then. Just be careful not to break thru the hard flash coating on the hammer.
