Dude, cut the patch smaller until it goes down the barrel, clean it and get on with it. Put 500-1000 pellets through it, then get back with this community.
If barrels dirty, start there. Also check the LDC for alignment by shining a bore light at the breech while looking down bore from the muzzle. Make sure the bore & lights refraction passes from barrel threw LDC being centered. If these issues are too much for your ability and wish to have these issues looked at .... Well, guessing we may have destiny to get that gun looked at & tweaked on some.Scott
It is a fine gun. A Czech Taipan, I am told, has a "Select" LW barrel rather than a CZ barrel, in any caliber. And, possibly, a MUCH nicer stock. Scott is right, adjust the trigger and go have fun. I shot some sub MOA groups with mine about this time last year and like a fool I went fiddling with it and I degraded the performance. I luckily reversed that according to the documentation I kept and got it back to pretty much how it came from the factory...other than the trigger settings. Those factory guys knew a lot more about its optimal performance than I did. Taipan lesson learned. Shoot some 30 and 50 groups now and save them, then shoot some more after about 750 pellets through it. I'd like to see both groups!I've got the Stihl Wood Boss in the foyer without the chain on it. The perfect finishing touch to my wife's Halloween porch decorating. Every time I get a knock on the door I crank it up and rev it a few times, then answer the door. Don't know if these kids will come back next year...
