Stoeger X-20.... NP!

Here goes, my long over due review of my Stoeger X-20.

First impressions: Pretty nice gun.  I purchased the synthetic stock .177 version, which came with a one piece mount and the 3x9x40 AO scope.  Coming from a guy that grew up with various 10 pump jobs and fixed 4x scopes, this was a whole new ballgame.  This gun looked and felt more like my deer rifle than an airgun.  

I was really impressed with the power.  Once the gun settled down a bit, the accuracy was pretty good too, but I was still looking for a little more.  

Then it happened.  Curiosity got the best of me, and that's when I found the GTA.  I happened upon a post by Gene which described a gas ram conversion.  Long story short, over the next few weeks the wheels were turning so fast that the rubber burned off.  With that said, off went the gun to Gene in SC. for the conversion and tune.

Quick turn around, and excellent craftsmanship!  The difference was night and day.  The cycle was beyond smooth, no torque, GRT-III was amazing compared to stock, and the gun felt nice and tight.  Dime size groups at 35yds all day long.  I almost had to do a double take to make sure I was shooting the same gun I had sent out.  Gene took something that I felt was good at first, and spoiled me rotten!

I love it, my friends are jealous of it, the chipmunks hate it.... What else could I ask for? (Besides a few more!)

Just wanted to say thanks again to Gene for his time and craftsmanship, CDT for his custom triggers, and everyone belonging to the GTA for the wealth of knowledge you are all willing to share.  It has really rekindled my love for something I let go of a long time ago.  Its good to be back!
