Tune in a tube in my Tx200 cured the twang!

After reading a post here that suggested putting 2 drops of silicone chamber oil down the transfer port led me to oil up a few springers, one of which was the 4-year old TX200. I also took off the stock for the first time and oiled the cocking shoe with 30 weight 3-in-one oil. It was good to see that the gun was well lubed from the factory, but the spring always had a twang since it was new. So while it was open I squirted a wiggly line of Tune in a Tube grease between the coils of the spring, and reassembled it. Wow. No more twang. It didn't take a lot of goo, either!
Now that the spring noise has been damped down, the sound of the shot has moved forward and I notice the muzzle blast more than I used to. I'm really happy to have the twang gone. I've always loved this gun, but today it's even better. When the silicone oil quits smoking, I'll clean the bore with a non-bristly bore snake with a little Ballistol.
This is one big lump of a gun I have never been sorry that I bought. It is so reliably accurate and they feel so good in the hands.

The person who wrote the bit about lubing our compression cylinders is Frank in Fairfield, and the the info is in a post titled, "Keep it Lubed," located approximately one page downstream from this post. It is good info and thank you to Frank, for reminding us to maintain our air guns.
