I bought another PCP air rifle

I got my Umarex Gauntlet.22. The rifle is not heavy at all..  the psi gauge on the rifle is at 0. Is it normal??

I've never bought a bottled gun personally so it's possible something like the Gauntlet wouldn't have air in it when they shipped it.

Maybe.. it’s gonna be good work out when I get my hand pump..

I have pumped up a 13ci bottle before with a hand pump and it's really a lot of pumping, I think it was over 300 pumps on an old Benjamin hand pump.

I watch video. Exact same gun, and empty air. It takes about 200 pumps to get to 3000 psi.

I dont know how the gauntlets are but the guns I bought were supposed to ship with some air from the factory.   Something like 1000 psi in them from testing.  My QB Chief had none because of a slow leak and Discovery also had none because of a slow leak.  QB was returned and replacement had the same type of leak problem.  Both guns sealed up fine with a little silicone in the fill port and dry firing.  I would fill your bottle with some amount and let it sit overnight to test. I dont know how you get silicone in a bottle gun.

If it does have a leak you will get an undo workout filling to 3k.  It is a regulated gun so you can fill it to maybe 1k (if regulated at 850 psi) and test for a leak without wearing your pump seals out.  If it falls back to zero it may behoove you to take the bottle off and place a few drops of silicone in the gun.  I have never taken one apart so people can chime in but I've heard you have to empty the bottle to take it off.
I wouldnt think an oring is bad already and teflon tape can migrate and cause problems. IF it has a leak it is usually debris in the poppet or in the fill nipple (probably more likely on a traditional pressure tube gun).  If it is a bad leak call PA and they will guide you with what to do.  I don't want you voiding your warranty.  You could still return it for a different gun if that is the case.  That's what I did with my QB Chief and PA was very nice.

I am trying to get to know my gauntlet.. break shroud is little loose..  the tank is a bit loose..  i can use one hand to twist the tank... i will retighten before i fill it..

Tighten the tank as much as you comfortably can to make the gauge and fill valve in the right spots. It’s ok if it’s a little loose as it will tighten up when you add air. Do not try to over tighten it.

Yes.. thanks everyone.  I will hand tight the cylinder, and fill up to 1000 psi. Let’s it leave for couple days..
