Say, when comparing the specs of the Vector 3-12x44 with the Discovery VT-3 3-12x44....they both seem to be basically the same scopes. The dials are different, for sure. I find it fascinating that they are so short and so light! Why don't more companies make shorter ligher scopes? Hawke finally makes the Airmax Compact, but what a difference:no FFP on the Hawke...turrets hidden away under caps...an inch longer...an ounce heavier...(Sure, Hawke's life-time warranty is nice, I'll have IR please [Discovery is pretty stingy providing this with their scopes, despite the loads of other cool features], and 100 instead of only 60MOA elevation adjustment is welcome.)It all boils down to what is important to the shooter and the type of shooting it's been used for.... At lower mags and low lighting situations and dark targets you will definetely need IR on the compact FFP Discovery model. I have the Discovery, awesome scope, but no IR on such a small thin crosshair (at 3-6x mag) is a major issue.
