Texan SS not working HELP PLEASE

I am desperately seeking help. I had a fully functional texan SS until I decide to put a 4500 tank and a heavier spring in it. I obviously am missing something. When I cock it, it doesn't seem to have the same amount of pressure? Auto safety works. I unlock safety, pull trigger, and nothing?? I'm at a loss. Please help if you can

Is it cocking?

If it does cock and you pull the trigger, it's the hammer striking the valve?

What pressure are you filling too?

It does cock. It engages auto safety. Release safety, pull trigger, nothing. Not much resistance when cocking. Hammer is not "loading" / not being put under tension to fire into valve???

When changing out the spring. The tube only has the spring, hammer, and small ring. Does ring belong on opposite side of hammer and spring?

So, its kind of hard to tell you what is going on with your gun with out having it in our hands.

1) when you cock it, you should feel a heavy force when the hammer compresses the spring and engages the sear.  ( if it does not feel like or harder than originally, then your install is wrong.)

2)  when you pull the trigger, do you actually hear the hammer strike the valve, ( if not, your install is wrong )

3) if hammer strikes the valve, and nothing happens, increase the power wheel.  ( remember 4500 psi takes a bigger strike to open the valve )

The hammer is definitely not loading with the spring. I will have to search youtube

If sear is not catching, the spring will push the transfer block back towards the valve.

Now why it wouldn’t be catching is unclear. I’m not sure what type of safety the Texan uses (sear block or trigger block or hammer block....). Some types of safeties will not go to ‘on safe’ unless sear is engaged.

Is it possible that it goes into spring bind before sear catches? Maybe try with the ‘ring out’ just to see?

Watching some videos, it appears the Texan ‘cocks on closing’. That would mean it compresses the spring when lever is pulled back.

So if it is not ‘loading’ compressing the spring, the sear didn’t catch the hammer.

That would be where I would look first.

At the bottom of the picture you see a small spring lying sideways with a small cylinder shaped piece of metal. I removed that spring and cylinder and I'm guessing the SEAR DROPPED INTO PLACE? I put those two pieces back in and immediately could feel the hammer spring pressure while cocking it. Reassembled and shot perfect!!! THANK GOD 😂😂

Where are the 2 other springs? Mine has 3 springs if I remember correctly?

I'm going through the same exact thing. I did remove that back spring and cylinder..... get everything back together, cock it, and  the cocking lever sticks AGAIN!!! I'm frustrated!!!!
