Artemis SA 700 and Slugs

Thought I would post some results with the very accurate Artemis offering.


The pic's tell the story. I am casting these from a mold owned by HobbyMan. He sent it to me to have it decked to obtain a lighter bullet, and ease of fitting the mag's in his guns. It comes in at 29.9 gr's iirc. Sized t .21647 with Swede's NOE Sizing System. The bullets are from NOE's .224 mold. Fantastic workmanship as usual! You just can't beat NOE for consistent quality. My go to Mold Maker. ;<)


the barrel looks like it has been fully lapped adn polished. Odd, but wow! The accuracy speaks for it's self.


I equip the pistol with an ADE 006B 3.5 mil Red Dot (GREEN lol) Holo sight. Love it! 


The green target spot is 3/4". Those are 5 shots in the green. The two above are Crosman 14.3 HP's for comparison.


The ram is at 80 yards with the bullets. Two touching and one a bit lower. Thing is, I am holding the green dot well above the target (Ram) basically suspended in the air. No real reference. Just a WAG and let it fly. LOL


The Green dot on the Ram was added "After the shots". There was NO reference point on the ram while being shot.


Would love to try this with a real scope.
I have a Zeiss Rifle Scope here, and may very well install it for a bit of long range testing. The Mil-Dots will let me actually pic a spot on the target. It can only get better from here!

I looked for the "ADS 006B 3.5 mil Red Dot" and could not find it.  I then read the lettering on the sight from your picture and see that it is ADE.  I found that.  Any more comments on that sight?  I have been looking for a cheaper very small red dot sight that is similar to the Burris Fastfire III or Vortex Venom (which I own) but that do not cost $200-plus.

The dot can go super low for night shooing, and super bright for Texas midday shooting. Very accurate, small, light, seems sturdy.


I am getting a bit of reflection in the lens from the tree lind. Thought it was just a dirty lens at first. I need to contact them and ask if it is normal.


It comes with a Picatinny mount, which I promptly milled down to hard mount  it to the AG. I like a very low, close to the bore axis as possible. Really helps that the dot is so close to the iron sights, and helps locate it much quicker. Fro me at least.   


The price is a killer deal. 41 bucks shipped Really? Yep, unreal!


I like it so much I'm thinking of putting a Vortex version on my 1911 Les Baer.

Only 20 yards. Does pretty much the same with the targets at 30 yards. This was just a test when opening up the sizer to see what worked. Bullets do not always give good accuracy at short ranges.


Pellets are usually much more accurate at the shorter ranges, where a bullet needs to settle down and takes longer to do so, lacking the skirt for the air pressure to pull straight when first leaving the barrel.


I got very lucky with these!


this combination is he** on the Scorpions I hunt a night on my shooting berm, which consist of soil and rock. It hits hard with the bullets causing a lot of shrapnel. Deadly on them. So far, since May 21, 981 killed.

Yes, I agree that getting the sight as low as possible is best.  This keeps the perceived trajectory as flat as possible.  I have a Vortex Venom mounted on the Picatinny rail of a S&W Victory pistol, and while it is zeroed at 25 yards, it is almost an inch low at 9 yards.  I don't like that.  Getting it lower will decrease this difference

This is the first very small (Fastfire and Venon-sized) red-dot sight I have seen for under $200, so I consider it quite a find if it is accurate (as you have proven) and holds up.

Mike, they have a very good rep, and the owner of the company is very serious about addressing any issues immediately. 


Not a bad  start  for a bit of confidence in starting the sting the product!

Stellar results Mike . I’m sure if anyone else was interested in this bullet Al would be willing to make the mold . I can’t wait to try some of the new bullets . For those who are interested it’s the NOE 225-39 FNPB mold that Knife decked down . Wish I could push the PP700SA to it’s full potential , up here we get the shot count but no velocity . Still really happy with the pistols , just like a lays potato chip , bet you can’t have just one .
