What to do with a Milling Macine head found on Craigslist

  Surfing Craigslist one day and found this milling machine head.  Before I went to check it out I thought it was off of a bench top mill/drill where the head raises and lowers on the column. After getting there I see that it's off one of the larger mills, kind of sized between a bench top and a Bridgeport.  The green paints make me think it was sold by Grizzly originally.  The seller told me he bought the head from someone that wanted the lower part of the mill for laser etching.  I wasn't sure this was a project I wanted to take on but with a selling price of $100.00 I figured it was worth a shot.  It's taken a couple of years to get to but I finally got around to making the bottom end for the head.  Most for the steel I picked up as scrap for free.  I have a lot of work in store to try it out on.

  After shimming the XY table a bit it trammed up just fine.

  Thanks, I modified a Harbor Freight trailer jack.  I tried to make everything with rigidity in mind.

Great use of scrap steel.....but, just for my information, which bridge on route 1 is missing some scrap steel?
