No go with this 880

After about 100, 125 rounds of mostly pellets this 880 is out of commission.

I cock it and as I pump I hear the air flowing out of the barrel, around the bb I guess.
If I move swiftly through 5 to 8 pumps and fire the bb goes about 5 feet before falling from a level point of aim.
3 to 4 pumps, bb rolls out of the barrel.
It's properly oiled with 30 wt.

On the first shooting it was fine,
The second time out on a 40 degree day it would not build any pressure for a dozen tries then worked normally.
Third shooting I sighted in my cheap scope and fell in love with this cheap rifle that was consistently giving
me dime sized groups off had.
Today It will not come back online.
Taking It back to walmart tomorrow as they said when I bought It,"It's not a firearm so yes you can return it here"
Not going to try again, too much hassle.

Just sayin' here....if all it takes is a visit to Wally World for an exchange, give the 880 another chance. Go ahead with the Nova Freedom as that looks like a very nice rifle (way beyond an 880), but having an 880 around to plink with can be a lot of fun.

I got mine as a refurb and was so impressed with how well it shoots I started doing mods to it, trigger, filled the buttstock, removed lawyer spring, Geo LDC and an upgraded AO scope.  Super impressed.  Can't be beat for the price.

Why not exchange that puppy for another one at Wally World and get the nova too as others have said?

A seal probably let go in your 880, which can happen on “any” air rifle new or old.
Aggravating, but it happens...

id throw some oil in it and see if it comes back, 

ive had more than a couple 880s do that,and oil helped.

From your description the "valve stem" is not seating properly. I'd give it a good alcohol flush and a big drink of ATF. See if that helps. There may be some sort of schmutz in there.
I wouldn't give up on the 880, if you enjoyed it while shooting well. There is a lot to love for a very cheap price. And it is, typically, fairly durable on the inside.

You can't give up on the 880, it's " the cheap plinker ".
I honestly don't know why companies bother making those $100 springers when an 880 is only $35.

Walmart took It back, full refund,
Yeah, I may pick up another and try again.
The thing did really well with 4 or 5 super easy pumps and a pellet,
So well I was able to overlook the trigger feel.
