Whatever gun you prefer is "the best gun". I've seen 20 dollar B-3's outshoot a TX-200, it really depends on the shooter and what they prefer. Albeit craftsmanship does come into play, sometimes you do get lucky with a cheapie and just get all the good parts to make it one *(&^ of a shooter.

In my mind the best pellet rifle is the Racine, Wisconsin-built rocker safety Sheridan Blue or Silver Streak. But, that's just me.

For the price, B-40 is probably the best rifle you can get if you can find one online.

I'm liking the (Chinese manufactured) Beeman model 1073 (RS2) dual caliber air rifle. It's like a cheap, friendly hooker in that you can get your shots off without having spent a lot of money! Plus it goes both ways;.177 and .22 caliber. Of course there are the more elegant, and expensive trophy-wife air rifles out there (that's just about anything compared to the 1073). Some are not cocking as my little rifle (now called Death Blossom-II, but harder coming by for me. But it looks good and gets on the job well. Money well spent.
