I have an old Polish air pistol; Predom-Lucznik, actually I have more than one. The question is; is this the right place to post queries about this unique old pistol. I was thinking the German forum would be the place because the pistol is a copy of the Walther LP53, but after reading all the"eintreit verboten" signs at the gates of the German forum I am wondering if this wonderful old"polka-gal" is becoming the red-headed step child of the airgun fraternity............................

I'm a little curious about them to, mostly because I saw one turn up at a local gun auction last summer. I wasn't intrigued enough to actually pursue it....

Thanks for the inputs. I got mine from Apex 5 or 6 years ago. I bought one and was quite fascinated with it. It was getting close to Christmas, so I called them and told them how much I liked the Polish pistols. I went on to explain to them that I would like to buy possibly 3 or 4 more to give as Christmas gifts, but they would have to be in absolutely perfect condition.
The kind person on the other end said to call back in 10 minutes or so and he would check their stock. I bought 4 more in absolutely "Mint" condition with 3 holsters, 3 original cleaning rods and a small bag with extra piston seals. The perfect pistols he sent were real cherries, but when I shot them, they belched smoke and deposited a lot of leather debris in the barrel. They all need new seals, so I made a brass head and a TFE seal(similar to a Webley) and it seems to shoot great. At the time however I was in the process of buying a new home and packing and misplacing a lot of stuff.
My big question is; has anyone out the ever seen an original cocking device or an original manual?................

Im afraid that there is no english version as far as I know

Is that something on the barrel?

Mario; Thanks so very much! I put my courser on the pages to try and high-light them, but it would not work. The second attachment looks like a photo of the pistol with a barrel weight, there is something additional on the rear sight also. Wow! This might be a target version, thats the first time I have seen one of these. Thanks for some great attachments.............................

its low quality scan, so Im affraid its not possible to copy text and use a translator.
The instruction is very basics, and tells you only how to maintain pistol (dont shoot nails etc
, use oil for the seal and dont leave it cocked overnight.
Here is in one picture, but without knowing polish its not very useful

Thanks so much. I can make out what looks like the muzzle velocity; 100m/s= 328fps. Really a nice piece of work. The pellet it shows in the photo looks rather unusual, is this a Polish match pellet? I wonder what it weighs?...................

You are right, its 100 m/s or 2.5 joules, which is 1.85 ft-lb
It was designed as a recreational pistol, optimal distance to the target ~ 6 meters, but in good hands can shoot further
Those are some old school diabolo pellets, probably not very accurate in today's standards.

Mario;
Have you ever seen an original cocking aid(little round wooden piece) that fits over the muzzle to help cock the pistol? Also were these marked in any way to indicate Predom-Lucznik. Thanks a lot, several of your threads were totally new to me and I think everyone else here......................

Hi,
Thanks for nice words
I have never seen this type of cocking device.
I presume it might be a home made invention, or adapted from other pistol.
There were metal barrel weights, but nothing made from wood I'm afraid.

JG airguns has a cocking device for a Walther LP53, but I think it's like $30 or $40. Those guns have freebore in the muzzle designed to insert a dowel in a ball like handle. Mine is very accurate and kinda fun to shoot.

The Lucznik pistol is long out of production, of course. So you might do better posting inquiries on the Vintage Airgun Gate.
