Hi all,
Wow! What a day. I bought a Benj Prowler a few weeks ago and today was tweak day.
What a surprise as I loosened the clamps and saw no spring. Anyway, all the parts inside were smoothed and cleaned. The trigger group was completely torn down. There are maybe 3 mating surfaces that were polished. I also "softened" one of the springs to make the trigger pull nice and light. I removed my 10mm bearing and replaced it with an 8mm version. 10mm was like 3mm of trigger pull; just too sensitive.
I have no idea if the velocity went up, but the rifle sounds "meaner" now. It's also crazy inaccurate at 10 yards! I'm hoping I'm just rusty and maybe a bit of the gun "re-seasoning" going on.

Was it more accurate before?

Day 2 of shooting after the rebuild. Still not happy with the accuracy.
No, it wasn't especially accurate prior to the rebuild.

Mine took nearly 700 pellets to settle down. Buy some cheap Premier hollow points and keep shooting. I assume you have thread-lock on the stock screws and scope mount screws. If it doesn't settle down, try a different scope.

Couple of things to check:
1) Breech seal may be leaking in an inconsistent manner, tissue-test can show a leak.
2) Barrel: clean and slug the bore, feeling for rough spots/burr @ crown. Barrel and crown might benefit from some polishing.
3) Some guns are finicky abt ammo. Takes experimenting, sometimes to find what it likes
Good luck, keep us posted!
