help me piece together a low cost fill tank (im not new to pcps or tanks)

ok, sold my tank a few years ago (joe b great white)

sick of pumping,
but cant afford a brand new fill setup right now.


so looking for a fill setup i can piece together for a low cost that would get me by for now,

already have a brand new scba valve (standard cga347)


anyone got a source for tanks with a year or 2 left on them?

ditto for a fill setup (found some from the us for around $50-$60)

The best of luck finding a good tank, I know that they seem to be much more now then when I bought my last two, those had 4 1/2 years left on them then and I've got one year left on them.  I made my own adapter for about 85 bucks buying from ebay, amazon and North Shore compressor.  I'm going to be ordering me a new 6K fill whip from Northshore soon because I'm not crazy about the braided ones myself and they're made in China which isn't a good idea IMO.

if i can find a tank with just a year left id be happy,

as a good friend is getting out of the hobby,
and is giving me an amazing deal on his tank and gun + accessories,
just dont have the money to get them right now.

so i figure i can piece together one to get me through a few months and could keep it as a backup.


so far ive found parts to do a complete setup for around 200,

but as you said,its china stuff.

Here are some scba 4500 psi cylinders with manufacture dates in 2005.  The pictures show some from January 2005 and March 2005 for $75.  I would email them and ask for the youngest tank they have.

hey thanks,ive seen that one,but unfortunately its already out of hydro .


im trying to get one with a current hydro so its one less thing to do before i can fill it.


so far ive found one with a current hydro and 2 years of life left for around $150

and then a fill system for around $50

my search continues LOL

A hydro test is between 25 and 40 bucks.  I get mine done at a fire extinguisher company.  I hydro'd my ebay tanks within the return window so that if they failed I could get my money back from the ebay seller.

well you do have a point there.

what was the turnaround time on getting them tested?

A day or two.  I also asked them to remove the dip tubes in the valves so that I can turn the bottles upside down and purge any water.

That's a good price for all pending tank size and condition.  On eBay, I usually go for 2-3 years left with current hydro for around $110 just for the tank (60 minute/88CF).

Those ebay tanks that you show are 3000 psi tanks and won't work on PCP airguns.

i normally would try to get a tank with more years left on it,

but im buying a friends 2yr old 88cf tank and airforce condor for a steal of a price in the next couple months or so.   

so this fit the bill nicely for a short term tank,
and im sure i can sell the fill setup later if i dont need it.
