Your Advice -- Buying REFURBISHED PCP from PyramydAir??

I'm unsure if this is a wise decision -- I can't afford to buy a defective gun, moneywise AND since where I live there are no gun smiths that can work on this:

I saw a PCP at PyramydAir that I like. It's refurbished, and that's why I can afford it.

What is your advice? Buy it refurbished? Buy it new?

ive found that alot of times, that refurbs have already had their glitches fixed.

Is the refurb. returnable?  If so, go for it.
If not, you may want to pass.  Although PA has always been very good to deal with and stand behind their products.

I bought a refurb Air Arms S510 in .177 beautiful and accurate I believe that many of the refurbs are the result of buyers remorse. Therefore no defects other than the buyers decision

Agree with above and have had nothing but good experiences with PA but if cost is a major concern for your purchase I would make sure it could be returned.  If not it might be better to save for a new version.

Because I have a limited budget I never buy new. A refurb from PA is something I would set my sights on.

What has gotten me worried is that in the past I have purchased electronics that was refurbished -- and several times something was wrong, and since I live outside the US, returning is was not an option. 
Well, actually neither new nor refurbished a return is an option.  But my concern is if the refurbished guns are FIXED UP now, or if they are sold in the same condition as they were returned -- with my electronics stuff that surely must have happened.

Or do I need to send the gun to a trusted friend who tries the gun out, and if it's OK, sends it on to me in Peru?

I have one experience buying a refurbished gun from PA and it was a good one, like new gun and substantial savings.

I have purchased several refurbished air guns over the past year, but none from PA.  I would feel good about getting one from PA just because of their reputation and presence on this site. 

As far as my experience with refurbs, I've bought 2 refurbed Gamo's, 1 Benjamin and 1 Hatsan.  The Gamo's were better than new and one of them is laser accurate, in-fact it's the most accurate and consistent break-barrel I own!  I have had no problems with the Benjamin; however, I have had more problems with brand new Benjamin air rifles than I have had with the refurb.   And one Hatsan that was horrible and had to be sent back.  So, the moral of the story is not so much who you are buying it from, but the brand and who did the refurbishing!  Hatsan is replacing the refurb I bought from them and I hope it turns out to be a good one, but I don't know yet.  If you are purchasing a Hatsan, you may want to send it to a trusted friend and have them give it a good once over before they send it to you, just in-case!

I Very RARELY buy a gun that is not used.
i like them already broken in, and generally consider the older guns superior in some respects.

I read here somewhere that the Hatsan refurbs were preferred over some new ones from Turkey because the Hatsan USA company is really good at fixing them. Not sure if that is fact though.

I have no experience with them but Field Supply has some great deals and a good inventory. I really want an AT44 or BT65 right now.

Bought a refurb Sam Yang from PA....no issues at all.

I also bought a S510 refurb from PA just had a small blem on fore arm saved a bunch great gun no problems. I would by a refurb from PA again and yes you can return it under there 30 day return guaranty

 One could add the 10 for $10 test to help assure the gun functions.

I'm hoping my experience with the refurb BullBoss was just a fluke and the replacement they are sending me will be better than new!  The first one I received clearly was not refurbished, and I'd have been embarrassed to sell it to anyone as a used air gun.  I guess anyone can have a bad day!

Let's just say, after my one experience with a warranty repair, I have very little faith in the competency/quality of HATSANUSA service dept.
