I’ve owned a couple Gamos and regret the purchase. I found them to be over-powered, loud (they had a good laugh when they named it the Whisper) and not very accurate. The trigger and build quality were poor too. I know they can be improved with some effort, but they were not my cup of tea. The HW and RWS springers deliver much better value and performance for the $$$ in my opinion. The hw50 can be delivered to your door for under $300 here. https://www.krale-schietsport.nl/en/weihrauch-hw50-s-9231.htmlIf you want a more powerful full size gun get the hw85 or hw95. The RWS was on sale recently at Walmart for about $180...an incredible bargain for a well regarded German made springer.Good luck choosing.R
Quote from: Brazos on July 14, 2018, 09:16:13 PMIf your budget is $300 don't buy a Gamo as they are junk. For $300 buy something decent like a RWS34, HW50, HW35, etc. Do some more research. 177 is good. A little out of your budget would be a HW97 from Krale for around $375. If you can swing a little more buy that. That I'd the best deal in nice spring rifles going. It will be a quality, accurate rifle that will last generations.Gamo rifles are not "junk" Rather they are decent lower end medium priced rifles that require a touch more TLC to achieve their full potential. The above listed springers are better out of the box but all still require some TLC to reach their best performance also.

TLC = tear down thoroughly clean degrease , deburr, smooth the trigger parts, (CDT 4G Thank you Don, you might be the first to say Gamo isn't junk lol. You say they need TLC, what do you mean ? I suppose a better scope might be in order. It might take me a few months for the extra stuff for it, no big hurry. It has been so long since I played around with an airgun. The last one I had interest in was my new Sheridan Blue Streak. I made sure it had a Walnut stock, which I took off, and redid it, it was beautiful. Sold it for alot, but sorry I did. Help me, from what I hear, if I want it quiet, need to keep it slow , fps.
would you please explain why you think Gamo is junk ? Thank you
