Benji pump - handle pushes up on its own

Real frustrating having to burn needless energy on the upstroke. My Benji didn't want to come up either.  Sometimes it came up easy, sometimes it would bind on the pull up.  REAL frustrating.  Once I supercharged it at 65psi it pushes it up to the top...and if you are starting at approx. 2000psi the problem becomes it don't want to go down.  It is a fight the first two or three strokes.  Now the air compressor blows it up regardless if it binds or not, and you just have to worry about getting it back down.  So I have been using it like that, too busy to tear it apart.  34 strokes from 1850 to 3000psi.  Those 34 strokes at four atmospheres are a darn good workout. If it has to be hard, make it hard on the productive side of the stroke.  Let the compressor do the work for you on the upstroke.

Jason there are two ball checks I believe..(I could be wrong, ask my wife)
the handle in the up position is usally  the 3rd stage check ballbeing stuck

Ball valve should be dry. The video I sent shows how to disassemble the entire pump,it was useful to me when I rebuilt mine because I couldn't figure out how to get to the 3rd stage.

i put a tiny bit of silicone on mine when reassembling one time,
and had to yank up sharply on the handle to get the ball valve to pop open.

 I think my pump came with a wet ball, I'll look into it
