Tom, thank you so much! As much as I hate to admit it...those rattus rattus are super elusive and smart like you said! On some (not all) I need to have the sliding glass door already open so they hear NOTHING, otherwise..poof they’re gone!

Ha I have had the same trouble, before a nights shooting I have taken to raising the window enough to get my fingers under to lift it. That way it is ready to open nice and noiseless.  If I have to unlock it then try and lift it I make way to much noise and they are gone.

Paulus, true true! They are very wary critters ..a battle too easily won is too easily forgotten!
