just for fun tho,  the barrel and shroud not inline with the air tube wouldnt cause this, but would throw some up some flags.

so to break it down.

things that would be off center of the dovetails:

barrel bent.
passage in breech for barrel.
barrel shroud bent causing barrel to bend.
dovetails themselves off center(might be able to eyeball that)

something silly like missing O ring on air stripper and pellets are kissing baffles.


you try to shoot it with the barrel shroud off? that would clear half the suspects.

IF the new one or my old one  comes back in  similar condition Its going to be repaired my way..

had all kinds of other thoughts on this topic, but after he posted ^^^ then I say, go for it.

Many of the Crosman offerings should be treated as a "Starting point", and not as " the finish line"..... minor tuning can make these mass produced guns perform extremely well, given the initial cost. Lot of aftermarket parts, and many sources of good info for tunes and tweaks...... keep us posted

Well I hate to hear you had to send it back, but feel like you made a wise decision.  If a couple quick checks didn't fix it then there is no need to go further and void the warranty.  When you get a good one you will know it and really enjoy it.  I would say it is rare to get a lemon, but it happens to the best/worst of us from time-to-time when buying mass produced guns of any make.

I received an email from crossman today and they are replacing my mrod said it wasnt repairable! So I am waiting for the new one to get here.

That's great news!  Hopefully you get one that has been checked out already, but probably not unless lucky.

It's sad when these things happen, be it poor shipping causing damage or poor QC that lets a lemon slip through. So often the damage occurs in shipping, it's a shame Fed-x and UPS don't take more care with the packages. I once received a rifle from a dealer and the entire side and corner of the box had been torn open. I made the driver stay while I examined the contents for damage. Luckily everything was ok.
