That's a good price.  I always keep 1 or 2 spare ones because they don't last as long as they used to.  I am sure it's because I leave them out all winter in the snow and rain, but they are hit or miss these days.  Sometimes they last a couple of years and others a few months before they break.  My first one I got in 2008 lasted 4 years before it died and was buried several times in 2ft of snow.  Not so with the ones I bought the last 3-4 years.

Last November I got the 1by1 from Amazon which comes with 2 sensors, and the base unit has the A/C adapter, so no batteries, and the sensors take AA's which are cheaper than the 9V.  You can also silence it and have it light up, or select a different chime, and adjust the volume naturally.  So far the 1by1 sensors have lasted all winter with a lot of song bird activity at the feeder and very cold temps, and the (Duracell) batteries are still good after 4 months.  Of course the whole thing cost around $27, but I got an extra sensor (can have both of them on) and the AC adapter which I really like and don't have to spend an arm and a leg on C batteries like with the Bunker Hill.  The receiver is almost identical to Bunker Hill except with more buttons and switches on it, so I am pretty sure they are all made by the same company in China and labeled differently. 

BTW, are you trying to change the "Ding Donger" name I gave them back in '08 to "Ding Dong Dingers"?  I don't think that's going to fly Steve.  I haven't copy righted "ding donger" so you can use it if you want

Ding Dang Durnit! Which I’m fond of saying for some reason, just seems to have the right number of syllables. Ding Dong Dinger does too.

Funny, first thing I do with a new DDD is take it apart and cut one of the leads to the piezo speaker thingy to keep my wife from wringing my ding dang neck. Seems the sound wakes her up in the middle of the night, and she doesn’t appreciate that’s what it is for so I can shoot rats at night. Seems reasonable to me.

So now I just get a red blinky light. Kinda works.

I’ve killed two. Rain got one. I keep meaning to seal them all up with silicone caulking but I forget to.

The other one get chewed on by Rio the big goofy dog. I think he buri d it for a while and it got rained on also. Now I have extra receivers. Not sure what to do with those. Maybe target practice.

Anyway, at $10 bucks a pop I’ll keep on buying them. Think I’ll get some micro switches though so I can toggle sound off and on.

If you have a Rural King nearby give their version a try.  Only one frequency available but they last longer and the the range is better too.  I scotch tape the top and side seams as well as the battery cover to keep the water out.  $10 IIRC.

Thanks Steve, and Soupyy, turns out I had the same original coupon here (4.30.18) in a different mailbox blocked as junk, just printed the coupon and will use it tomorrow, it has a different code, so it looks like HF sends different codes to different registered customer...

the original coupon/post above expires on 4.30, and has 9 items total, I think printing that jpeg should work,  but this is the email they send me, apparently the coupons are generated with a 'widget' embedded in email? so I'm not sure if it works in a different computer, if you click on the 'print coupon' button you should get a coupon for printout and they only allow 3 items with this coupon, if you click on the 'super coupon' you get a different online coupon # that maybe you can pick up in store or read the code to a friendly cashier??...

Mine sits outside thru the rain all the time. Covered it in a thin layer of plastic dip out of the can. Sealed it right up and it’s lasted....now if we could just get more rain...
