Peeps on my guns....

U guys been bragging about em and I'm late to the party..but wow these things are so cool..I put one on my 1322 carbine using a crosman CCS brake and 1 on my 1994 397 looks right at home.....zero install problems ,although had to file a little on the wgrs 54 to fit breech on the 1322....both took just a minute to zero spot on out to 25 yards....no bulky scope ...guns are so easy to handle...I see more peeps in my future...many thanks

Ps...the apertures are like looking down a pipe...so smaller ones coming....

On my 392, I installed the .050 twilight (brass ring) aperture. Even with the brass ring, .050 was to small. I used a 1/16" drill bit and opened it up.

I want to get an adjustable iris on a real aperture sight one day.... when shooting at low light with a Williams peep I have to "Choke up" on the buttstock to get more light thru.

Peeps are definitely my favorite, and I'll use them on any gun I can for as long as I can see them.

Under what conditions are peeps most useful?  I expect it would be with a stock and long barrel, where the peep is much closer to your eye than it would normally be when shooting a pistol, and where the long barrel puts the front sight far enough away that it's not so blurry.  I have just a stock 1322.

I use the original peep sight on my Crosman 1377.
I hold the peep sight right against my eyeglasses and rest the back of my right hand against my chin similar to a cheek weld.
This "chin weld" steadies my hold.
It looks odd, but it increases my accuracy a lot.
You can laugh if you want to.
Try it if you want to shoot a 1377 or 1322 more accurately.
You may need to shoot and adjust your grip to get comfortable.

I also shoot a Beeman P17 pistol with a 4x rifle scope on it.
Grip the P17 normally with your right hand.
Put your left fingers around the eyepiece of the scope and rest your extended left thumb under the base of your nose and upper lip.
This "nose weld" steadies your hold and keeps your eye the correct distance from the scope eyepiece.
It takes some practice, but it works for me.

All of my 13xx and 2xxx guns have the steel breech so plenty of choices for sights/optics....I never could hit squat with the original sights , so that’s why I use the wgrs 54...my C9A and 397P have the original style Williams..good luck

For those that wear specs and have troubles, add a piece of tape with a shooters dot to your specs. The sight picture will clear up mostly. I keep an older pair of specs with the tape on always handy.
