Vintage Pumper, Modern Pumper, and Vee Pistol Match 2 **RESULTS ADDED**

Spread the word and so we can show off our vintage pistols.
Shoot whatever Vintage Pumper Pistol, Modern Pumper Pistol, or Vintage Everything Else Pistol (see below) that you want at 5M (more or less depending on what you have available).
Pistols only. Any type/style/barrel length but must not have a shoulder stock.
Distance: 5 Meters (16 feet, 5 inches). The shooter should not be over the "Firing Line"....his/her foot or feet should just touch the firing line/paint and not on it. The arm or arms and pistol can be over the firing line.
3 shots @ 5 Bulls. - Max Score 150
Shots are scored according to the highest value of the target scoring zone or ring that is touched by a circle centered over the shot with a diameter equal to your pellet caliber. A scoring gauge or the head of a wadcutter pellet comes in handy for this (the pellet skirt may be too large). If any part of a scoring ring (demarcation line between the scoring zones) is touched by the circle, including even the outside edge of the scoring ring line, the shot is scored the higher value of the two scoring zones. In order to score an "X," the entire circle must remain within the 10 ring (this exception only affects calibers larger than 177).
Any sighting device is fine.
Standing unsupported, one or two hand only, no rests of any kind. Seated is permitted only if you are unable to stand.
Classes are:
• Vintage Pumper Pistol (VP) (as defined in the Vintage Gate – manufactured pre-1985)
• Modern Pumper Pistol (MP) (Manufactured after 1984)
• Vintage Everything Else Pistol (VEE) (as defined in the Vintage Gate – manufactured pre-1985)
Divisions are One Handed and Two Handed.
Unlike the regular 5M match, multiple entries may be made in each class as long as the pistols are substantially different. the same pistol may be entered in both the one handed and two handed divisions. I’m sure that this will cause some confusion. We’ll work it out as we go along. The object of this match is to have fun and show off our pumpers and vintage pistols.
If possible, please turn in a scan or picture of the target. If you want to show off your pistol, then please include a picture. Please note, that a scan or picture of the target or gun is optional.
Target due date is Sunday, March 4, 2018.
Please include the following information with your entry (Copy the info below and post into your reply works best):
Call name or real name
Class (VP, MP, VEE)
Division (One Handed or Two Handed)
Pistol Make and Model
Sighting system
Pellet and caliber
Score
Any of the targets from the regular “Rules & Targets for the 5M Pistol Match are acceptable. These targets may be found at
https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=114750.0
The 5M “Ink Saver” target is linked below.
I’ll post entries to an excel spreadsheet and sort by class. If we get enough entries, then I post a 2nd spreadsheet sorted by make and model.
Shoot safe and have fun,
Jim

Marty,
I'm glad to see you submit a target with the H9. I've always wanted to try one of these pistols.
BTW, since you are using a scope, look up taco hold.

Jim,
Thanks for the tip. Never new that hold existed. Tried it out & a much steadier hold. I'll try it out this weekend with the H9A.
BTW...love this gun. Dead nuts off the bench.

Marty,
If you ever decide to part with any of your Sheridan rifles or pistols, I would appreciate "first dibs."
I still have my '67 or '68 Blue Streak that no longer shoots and I have been told that it is not worth fixing. I have a 70s Blue Streak that I purchased from a fellow member of this forum that I have been competing with. I have always wanted to add a Silver Streak, the pumper and CO2 pistols, and the CO2 rifle to my collection. Oh well, maybe one day I'll win the lottery.
The taco hold for me works better with a short eye relieve scope.

Jim,
I like to hold my free arm elbow anchored to my side. In doing so there was no way I could see through the long eye relief scope. I placed my short relief Leupold on the H9A in case I have time tomorrow after work/this weekend to try it out...night & day. By the time I get back on line, there it is...scary.
These Sheridan's are amazing shooters. I did real well with them on dime size targets out to 40 yards. I'd like to take them out some day & try them at longer distances. However, it is these matches that really opened my eyes to their accuracy. As difficult as this is for me to say, my Dan's are much more suited for this type shooting than my Benji's. Not near the recoil, better balance & a much nicer trigger & pull. Although when it comes to hunting, it's the Benji that ride with me. They are an absolute tank & plenty of accuracy to boot.
I'll let you know if I ever decide to part with any of them. In the mean time I'll be on the look out for a nice SSS. If I find one, you'll be the first to know.
