Beautiful Beast-EDgun R5 .30

I have always liked and wanted an EDgun, something about their uniqueness.  I just got the R5 Long in .30, it is one of 407 made.  It’s single shot, very quiet, accurate and seems to be built like a tank.  I got it Saturday, grabbed a scope from another rig and got out to the range for a few hours on Sunday.  I put about two tins of JSB 44’s through it, I didn’t want to put it down!  I was a little leery of it being a single shot, but it actually suits my style of shooting.  The bolt was a little awkward at first, but after a few rounds, I got into a rhythm and it worked well.

I got 40 shots on a 250 bar fill down to 141 bar.  Pellets were traveling at 880 FPS avg.  The digital gauge is slick, you can get single digit air pressure readings as well as shot count and air used per shot etc.  I actually ordered a couple of extra EDMU gauges for other guns.  It’s very quiet too with the huge offset moderator.  The only small negative I have is that the trigger blade is a little on the sharp side.

Here’s a couple pics after scoping, at the range and two of the better groups of the day on the right at a hundred yards, one inch grids on target, 5 shot groups.  Not too shabby!  Scope is a Athlon 6-24x50 FFP.

Thanks for the comments guys, appreciate it! The R5 is a keeper for sure! I’m really liking the .30, more expensive to shoot, but worth it to me.  Been selling off a bunch (more for sale probably) to buy a couple higher end rigs, finally at a point where I know what I like and what I don’t like. Been a five year learning curve, got to try out some different guns along the way, expensive but fun nonetheless. Still many more that I want.  If money was only easier to come by!

I am so torn between .25 and .30. I already have a single shot in .257 that is a true hammer at 180 fpe, and ultra inexpensive to shoot as I cast for it.

The .30 pellets are outrageous in price. wonder if the R5 or RS II can shoot slugs accurately?
