Today I found the gun poi changed when I used the bipod on the diffrent rail locations.
Also found on a bipod its hold sensitive.
Holding it firm its very accurate.
Also its hates almost every other pellet but the JSB .25 grains.
Benjamin 27 grains are its second favorite.
I really wanted it to like the barracuda hunter extremes

is the short tube 180 l whats length on short  tube and whats length on long tube I DID A  phot chop top is factory bull boss with short air tube and botom has short air tube but i cut the barrle back 3 or4 inchs what you guys think a carbean bull boss recon it would work i am only useing this gun to hunt with and probile use a larger ldc like in botom pict

I can measure tommorow but cutting the barrel and re using the Q.E would be alot of work.
I honestly would not want it with a shorter barrel.
Shorter barrel would requore more air to match the current feet per second.However in a hunting carbine with a short tube you can probly not expect alot of useable shots.Id guess 20 shots with the long barrel 25 grain round 850 fps.

Currently 18 shots with a low extreme spread  2000-2700 psi used however I can shoot about 30 shots before I notice a point of impact change but that uses presdure down to about 1600 psi for 36 shots and I hand pump.
So 18 shot tune is fine by me......less pumping.

Today I set hammer at 3 turns from closed with 28 grain Cuda hunter extremes since my gun hates them.I wanted a baseline before I plug valve ports.
37 shots with a e.s. of 53.
First 18 was an e.s. of 10
Fill was 2700 psi and ending pressure was 1650





So I plugged the valve holes porting one to align but it started raining so no testing.
Next I will recrown the barrel.

i agree cuting the barrle will drop fps way i had it figured just guessing thow from long to short tubes i say there 4 to 5 inchs difrent what i had in mind useing the at44 short and then cuting barrle recrown and thread takeing 4 or 5 inchs off then not useing the qe shroude and ldc useing a fater market like rocker makes maby even a difrent type i like the looks of like a 1 1/2 ob buy 8 inchs long ldc and put a carbon fiber sleeve over barle to give it back a shroude look thanks for the info 37 shots to me is great

Also cutting the barrel would lose the choke.
Whick may allow it to shoot slugs better but I dont feel the boss has enough factory power for slugs.

Thought I would join this discussion as I just got a new Nova in. Yes it is different, but ----Same action and calibre.

Accuracy improving, but not where I want it. Checked the crown, and there is a ring about 3/16" inside the bore behind the crown. AS I have not taken the barrel off, I don't' know the length of the choke. I would like to remove the ring by cutting the barrel back by 1/4" and re-crowning it.

So far, accuracy is not great. 25 gr. JSB's are spot on at 30 yards. One inch at 50 with flyers. 80 yards is 1 1/2". this after the second bbl. cleaning. Before the second cleaning, it was 2+ inches at 30 yards!
33 gr JSB's shotgun. Terrible! These are the Mark II versions. Good looking pellets though.

FPS is 865+ to 875 with the 25 grainers.

Although the Nova  is butt ugly in the photos published, it is actually a good looking AG in person. Nicely figured walnut is a big +!

Biggest drawback, it is LONG & LOUD!!!

Steve on AEAC said it is the quietest high power .25 he3 has ever shot. 

My TalonDor with the .25 barrel in it rather than the .257 bbl. is very quiet. but then again, it has a Neil Clague LDC in place. This loudness has to go. LOL!!!

So far, only apx. 300 shots thru it. May polish the bore in the near future,
and the port in the barrel needs to be checked for burrs. Very common on these ag's, and easy to correct. Really messes when accuracy if there are burrs!

Magazine #1 was full of burrs. Terrible. Polished it, and still need to address mag. #2.
Have to go to town today, so going to pick up some nylon washers to separate the different compartments in the QE LDC.  A very poor design to say the least.

I received this ag due to Pyramyd not being able to supply my #1 choice, the Rainstorm II in .25. Waited almost 2 months with multiple promises of delivery date. Not!

Time of more work, and more testing!  Hoping the .33's cill be more accurate with a bit more horsepower. We'll see!

ranger 45/badger .40... I have is  booming loud , you should wear ear protection when you shoot those   ......the rain storm is known to be pretty loud and many have had them moded to quiet them down .... I have a TKO long version on my hatsan at44 long .... that 1 is pretty darn quiet  ... BWalton also has his ldc that is tested quieter than the original QE set up .... but if you can get what your after modifying the QE set up that would be the best ...or at least way cheaper ....

25.39g  jsb works the best in all my .25's ...accuracy kills    Hatsan vortex ammo .25 should work very good also ... if I need more power I pick up a different gun larger caliber   for more fpe ... in my arsenal I can go up to 800 fpe ....  maybe get the .72 cal and bump it up a bit in the future    xp airguns Quigley .72 if you guys see 1 for sale let me know ! ...

i think the nova is a nice looking gun person can all ways get shroudes and stuff from crosman and shroude the nova i like the looks of b waltons shroude and ldc way he explaned it to me tube fits right over barrle then ldc screws in to his tube it may not use the 1/2 20 threads thats under the qe

I lined up one valve port,matched it to the .165 transfer port and aligned.
Plugged the rest of the holes.Could not chrony it as it was rainy and cloudy.However I was able to destroy a dozen starlings today.
37 shots today ended at 1800 psi so plugging holes helped but not a huge diffrence.
I noticed today that around 2400-2000 psi my gun seemed more accurate.
So perhaps a regulator is next.
I will pull the barrel and place an 11 degree target crown.

Also having some Mrod style baffles 3d printex to experiment with.Had a proto type printed and it looks promising.

8 baffles and a spring.
My .25 Cal on a phone app decible meter with factory Q.E. measured 78db
With the 3d set up 72db.
I'm going to try a shorter spring.Also going to try adding mouse holes.
Discharge does sound quieter.I know hear more of the ping.

Edit:
These smart phone apps all showing diffrent readings.
Another app shows the factory baffles at 62-64db
I mixed the 3d printed ones with the hatsan aluminum ones and was able to get 60-61db.
Shooting 25grain at 880fps
