Crosman 100 rear sight question

I just picked up a Crosman 100 this weekend and I am curious about my rear sight.  It is a v notch, where everything else I have seen is a peep.  From the looks of it, unless this is a very well made home remedy, this is what it came with.  Was a v notch rear sight available on these?
