Making progress with 308 round for Texan

We have struggled finding a good round for the 308 Texan. It seems very picky on what it will shoot. I added a picture of the target today of the best bullet so far we have. Hoping to still do better but this is progress. This is a swage slug and was traveling around 960 fps and was 110 grains. This was shot on a tether at 2700 psi. Off tether I can get two good shots, maybe three.
I am wondering if anyone out there with a .308 Texan has any groups or information on their findings to share.

Hey Nick, back inMarch I took Eric Henderson out to my deer lease to hunt predators. He brought a brand spanking new .308 Texan in the box we assembled at my shop before heading out. We found the best ammo for it was Hunter Supply 118gr at 150yds 2-3 shots 1"/1.5" 100yd 2shot groups were touching. Eric took a Spanish Goat with a head shot at 87yds off shooting stocks. Since then he has been taking hogs with this same set up. The ammo was the .308 118
Hope this help you Nick

If that's 100 yrd group Nick, then it's very respectable.

That was 100 yards, that's my standard. I had a better group with no picture but only a little bit better. We are going to try and change up the bullet weight and configuration (big advantage to swage) and see what the best we can come up with. I think for this gun it is very good.
I can take the tether off and get a couple bullets touching or near touching and then they drop a lot. Seems two shots is all I can get but they were very close. Striving for better.
Not sure how many of these guns are out there because I don't see much talk about them or the 357, a little, but not much.

I don't believe there are many out there either. Think people were wary with the poor initial accuracy, myself included. With more posts like this and what Upnorthairgunner is getting out of his .357 it's likely to change.
By the way the stock shrouds the barrel I don't know how hard it is to put a carbon fiber sleeve on. Never seen a Texan first hand. Between that and a Limbsaver you'd think the barrel whip and harmonics would be tamed.

Thanks, I am hoping this weekend to try some more round through it near the weights of these and see how it does. Right now we working all day just to keep up with orders so depends on how busy the week goes. That gun has all the power you need for a .308 so if it can proven to accurate over 5 shots or so it should be a winner. Only 2 good shots is a tough sell.
