Success. I read a post on here about floating the barrel. I floated the barrel and tried some gamo pellets and now I am shooting dime size groups at 20 yards.
I want to strap the front of the breech down tighter and then just shoot. I am satisfied with the dime size groups and some of this is caused by me not having a super rest to shoot from. The gun might be capable of .25" groups but at this time I am not that capable.

I must be really really lucky. I have yet to find any issues with my barrels on my pellet guns except for two of them I had to re crown. they all shot rather well right out of the box. I just put a 10.25 inch .177 barrel on my 2240, didn't do any thing but square it up to the plastic breech and had it sighted in clover leafing with the stock sights at 12 yards from a rested hand. I just check them over first and see if there is any thing glaring at me then shoot them.
