usually don't clean the bore in my air guns after shooting unless the groups have opened up. got to wondering about my co2 guns through ( possible corrosive effect after last pellet pushed out by co2 gas on last shot). any and all opinions appreciated.

I don't understand Bill. What could possibly be corrosive ? I shoot em and put them away wet and I have never had any problem unless they were leaded up bad.

Co2 is one of those non-reactive/inert gasses....not 100% completely so, but so far as airgun shooting can consider them as such (which is why they sell it as an inert gas at industrial supply places, use it as "bubbles" in soda).
But it's "cold". ...it decompresses from liquid co2... so it drops in temp...and it cools the metal...which favors condensation.
So it won't hurt a ding-dang thing to run a slightly damp patch through the bore and to slightly oil the outside of the metal work...outside cool pluxe inside warm, pretty much promises a bit of condensation.
And it won't hurt a thing to pass a dry patch theough the bore once you take it out for another session...just want to remove any residual gunky-oil after storage, which tends to gum-up the pellet's passage.
