Never owned or even handled a 1400.
Have any of you had both the sliding cover and the bolt handle variants? Other than aesthetics, is there an advantage to either one? Thanks.

I've had both.. now I only have a bolt. So guess which one I prefer? The bolt just gives me more of a "gun" feel if you can follow that. I guess it just comes down to preference. I wouldn't pass on a good deal just because it's not a bolt style. But if they were both available and I could only get one it would be the bolt.

Current got both types. Don't have a preference for either. A preference I have is the slim line stock of a 140 as oppose to a 1400 stock.

The slide cover simply attaches to the bolt with a screw and the bolt works exactly the same when you slide the cover closed and twist it as the bolt knob type.

The one I picked up for refurbishing has the sliding bridge cover, wish I had the one with the bolt, the 1400s look really cool with a Williams peep, but I only seen it installed on the Bolt variants, I believe the slider would get in the way of the mod.
