Well I picked up this box-o-pistol the other day. Looks to be almost complete.....down to the tiny bushing that guides the cocking arm. Only thing I see isn't there is the pellet loading spring. I have a few so no big deal there. I have rebuilt a bunch of 38T's and several early ones with steel cylinder and rear sight. This is the first brass valve 38T I've had. It's a prime candidate for a restoration. The biggest problem I have here is that the guy I got it from, fancied himself a gunsmith. It leaked so he broke it down to reseal it with one of them cheapo kits off fleabag. He didn't have a tool to remove the valve plug so he took a dremmel to it instead. The valve stem and the plug lost that fight. I think I can salvage the valve. I need some advice. I know that these very early metal cylinders and valves are not interchangeable with the later generation of metal cylinders and aluminum valves. Are the rest of the parts going to work with this valve? Especially the valve plug and valve stem. I have a few 38T parts guns to scavenge.

Crickets chirping here. Might be better on the Crosman Gate.
