I'm curious to hear opinions also. I've been looking at these for a while and with the recent price drop they are more attractive than ever. I can't exactly speak for the the Boss, I've never held one, but I have the Royale 500, I'm on my second one actually and I love the platform. I love it even more after having tried similar models from competing brands. It's the most effortlessly accurate air rifle I've had. I just don't know how to say it any other way, it's kind of turned me into an FX fanboy
Here is a video I shot a while back of a 33 consecutive shot group at 51 yards that juuussst about fits under a dime. I've never had another gun that can do this, and do it this consistently. My apologies in advance for the
horrible
video editing. If you don't want to watch all 33 shots, (which is 3 full mags for the 500) just skip to the end. My point of the video was so that everyone could see all shots consecutively and give some credibility to it, rather than me just saying, "oh, here's my super group" and have everyone think I shot it at 30 yards or something.
Also here's a target I shot just this morning. The idea is that each circle is the exact size of a dime and you're supposed to hit, even if it's just the edge, each "dime" 5 times in a row at 50 yards. It's pretty difficult but fun as *(&^ if you're into that sort of thing.
Here is link to the thread where others are shooting the same target just in case it interests you at all.

I'm the proud owner of a .25 bobcat, and yes it stack pellets at 50 yards. And 1.5-2" groups at 100 yards. It seam more that the wind is the biggest factor at 100 yards. I just pulled the trigger on a RAW .30 today. Things that drew me to the the Raw over the Boss was:
1st. MADE IN THE USA
2st. The adjustable butt pad canted left and right as well as adjusted up and down.
3nd. They offered a adjustable comb.
4rd. I liked the tailoring in the stocks, true lefty, righty, thumb hole or not.
5th. There are many colors available of choice
One could argue that one is better then the other, maybe. if you go back and look at past years of the EBR
I'd argue it more the shooter. Maybe The day, pellets, scope, how many cold one's I had the night before ect. How ever I'd say, both guns stand on top.
When I started trap shooting years back, using a hand me down shotgun. I found that my scores were all over 18's to 23's, with that one off 25. All over the board. I started asking around the club how to Get better. The first thing said was go get a gun fitted to you. Well when you have a gun fitted, they adjust the pull, cant, comb and cast for starter's.
So understanding this I thought my next gun was going be fitted to me and my shooting style. I hope it helps me improve my shooting skills. I don't think the gun needs to improve it skills, I do.
Good Luck Joe,

I recently purchased a Boss but have only taken it out a couple times so far due to Iowa weather. First off it is very light for the size of the rifle, it's nearly 48" long. Handles very well and shoulders well too. I love the thumbhole shock. I have the composite stock which feels very grippy also. My first time out I was getting around 3" groups at 100 yards, keep in mind it was cold and the wind was blowing around 10-15 mph if I recall. I can't give a total thumbs up yet, but I'm pretty happy so far. Looking forward to getting some better weather to try it out more. When I shot I also was using the 51 gr pellets as the 44s are hard to come buy. I have some polymags, but they do not fit in the mag, another consideration. I do have the single shot tray though and I will try the polymags next time I take her out. Hope this helps

Interesting hearing about the royale as that may be my next purchase. What is your shot count? How Loud? Which stock?

Thanks for your replies everyone. Indeed the recent price drop has really caught my attention . Anyone out there have the opportunity to try both the FX boss 30 cal and the more expensive fx impact 30 cal? Any thoughts?

I own the FX Boss. It is indeed HIGHLY accurate. Surgically accurate, relatively quiet for what it is.
It is a sub MOA gun. On calm days. Most of the time. Washed lubed and sorted projectiles.
Did I mention that this rifle is highly accurate?
See below. I had the Hawke scope turned a few clicks to the right because once you lose the dot, you lose your reference point.
The one I have is a very VERY surgically accurate .30 caliber airgun.
each one of these cups/targets are 10 shots at only 25 yards which should give you an idea. Off sand bags.
I have a few targets around here somewhere of 5 shot 50 yard groups that look just like the groups below, shot at night in dead calm.

I think a lot of accuracy problems discussed on the internet can be cured with a good pair of spectacles.
FX Boss .30 - Hawke Sidewinder 6.5-20x42
Daystate Huntsman Regal XL .22. Leupold VX3 6.5-20x40 EFR - ultimate clarity and crispness.
FX Wildcat .22. Hawke Sidewinder 4-16x50 - Laser equipped.

Beautiful rifle my friend. I'm truly envious. I may have to pull the trigger on the Boss. No pun intended.
