hi there guys im after a lil help i would like to know if any one has removed there's.
that's the muzzle on a break barrel hatsan 125 177.
The reason i want to remove it is because it is visible in my scope.
i see a small alen key hole witch i haven removed yet ?
any tips or should or shouldn't would be cool cheers guys
im loven this gun but its a beast heavy steady shot plenty of power.

I thought I would respond as no one else has.

I have a Hatsan 95 that I am taking apart and refinishing. I wanted to have all metal parts custom blued and needed to take off the front muzzle too. Removed set screw, which did nothing to loosen it. I didn't want to muscle it off so I asked roughly the same question you did.

That was over a month ago - with no reply??

It appears nobody has taken apart these guns or our question is so inane no one wants to answer !!

For the plain front sight, remove the lock screw, then use a piece or wood or something similar to avoid damage and tap it off. The barrel is stepped on the end, so you'll either need to add some sort of muzzle brake, or you can possibly grind off the front sight post, smooth the area on the brake, and reinstall it.

If you buy higher scope rings, they can lift the scope enough to stop the intereference with your sight picture. and you can avoid the issue entirely.

wow thanks guys yer its seems to be a issue , but not overall stopping me from shooting just a lil bugger but i might just go for the raised sights trick rather than ,grinding the front sight down.. thanks for your help again guys ... plus check my you tube vids out on channel mrmaca cheers..

I tried to remove mine before I chopped my barrel down to 13 inches. I finally gave up being I wasn't keeping the length under the muzzle break anyway but after I cut it off I put the break in a vise and cut it off with a wood chisel and hammer. The barrel under the break is turned down smaller and splined so it won't look good uncovered. So unless you want to shorten the barrel and re-crown it I wouldn't remove it.

The muzzle brake on your rifle up there in Northland is the same as the one that used to be on my mod 99. I took it off with a block of wood and a hammer and was not impressed with method of attachment.

I chopped 75 mms off the barrel to get rid of the ridiculous barrel end and recrowned it. I made another muzzle weight out of Delrin. I now have a much more accurate rifle. It competes with my HW 95. (I have put a muzzle weight on that as well.) )

I have done a couple of other modifications to the Hatsan. The grub screw on the original brake is really wishful decoration and the brake was too light to be anything but a handle.

Light heat and wood dowel will remove the thing. Or cut the sight off and grind smooth and then bedliner the muzzle brake. The barrel not only has the step but is knurled . Many muzzle brakes out there. Jm make a nice alum long one that fits very good and is priced right. Hard to remove the factory muzzle with out some damage but it is re usable. I hated that ghost image as well.

The muzzlebrakes on these hatsan's are not only high pressure fitted but the barrel has multi-row etched in grooves that made tapping it off impossible for my 95. I had to cut along the seam with a diamond-tipped wheel before tapping off. Maybe you could heat it up enough to tap off if you have the means.

Boil a pan of water and stick the muzzle in. It will soften and expand enough to pull off. then dry the gun barrel with a heat gun or hair dryer. If you want to put it back on, simply heat it up again. I done it several times with different guns. Matter of fact I'm getting ready to do it again on a Hatsan Striker 1000s I'm chopping.

If the ideal of the sight is botherin you. A safe removal grind the sight part off. Smooth out your finish and reinstall upside down. Makes for a nice look and still and aid in grabbing to cock.

Gives you a nice looking top and the finished lower has a distinct straight look on the bottom after the work.

Or just leave with the factory install. Many nice muzzle brakes are available. The brake is there to aid Cocking.JMO
