My Sumatras .25 cal

O.K. so I had the Sumatras for quite some time now, probably not fully broken in yet ( as they seem to be still inproving) but i did shoot a considerable ammount of shots thru them and I belive it's time to talk about them

Absolutely Fantastic rifles !!!!!!

......the Power, the accuracy, great 6 shot repetr lever action fast and smooth.

Funny enought neither likes Eun Jin pellets, Domed or Pointed,...before I get ahead and sell them I'll wait a few more months to see when fully broken in if the change their minds

at the moment those guns are set up at the Blue dot on the powerweel, that is the one just below the maximum power Red dot, both shoot the Baracuda pellet extremely well, the long rifle is downright umbeliveble in accuracy, as expected the Carbine isn't quite as good, but still real, real good.

with the long rifle I get 3 mags of the Baracuda in the same POI at 30 yards, than the next mag I use H&N hollowpoint ( and those are extemely accurate too ) and they will hit the same POI as the Baracuda, couple of more shots and poi starts to drop, plenty shots there for all mmy hunting needs.


The Carbine gets 2 Mags of the Baracuda and one of the H&N Hollowpoint before dropping POI

Both rifles really, really like the Benjamin Domes too at reduced power, so I can use either the H&N Hollowpoints or the Benjamins in the last mag.


The Carbine next week will go to Will Piatt that is  going to make the Butt stock quick detach, for the ultimate backback hunting gun

While there she'll get a little lube/ tune too

Thanks Manny I have been giving alot of thought to getting one of these in .25(got a cool factor in them don't they), I know you have had alot of PCPs Bro. so what do you think of the build quality,an how smooth is the lever action on them?

I think this rifles are very solidly built, true "drag me around the bush" Hunters

the lever action is very smooth works real well.

I too really like the looks of this guns, the Carbine is soooooo very light !!!!

Do you mean to air up the rifles ?


if that's the question, I have pumps, 5 of them, if I shoot alot I keep switching pumps so they don't get hot, not overworking any of them

NP  yes that is what I meant. 5 pumps....my God man you must have arms like Popeye! I'm running into the decision of what to use for an air source for my PCP.
Trying to consider all options. I am older but have no trouble cocking magnum breakbarrels. I don't know how I'd fair with 100 pump strokes however. May end up getting a scuba for the main fill and just use a pump to top it off. Would that make any sense? Scuba being only 3000 psi on the first fill and going down from there.
Maybe I'm trying to read too much into this filling method. Would have to see how the S10 would shoot on say a 2700 psi fill. Confusing right now.

Her`s a Shin Shung Career 707 in .25.It`s been highly modified  90-95 FPE. That`s on med. power,43 gr. Eun-Jin pellets. After 6 shoots  I go up on the power level one click.I end up getting about 4-5 clips shot before refilling.I fill to 3300 psi.I also use hand pumps to fill I hunt mostly so I don`t feel like I need a scuba tank.I just use 3 different pumps.

Nice look'en hardware ya got Manny. I hear tell those are very hard shooters. I like the lever action as well-just something about the feel of the trusty o'le lever gun for sure......I wish they made a 9mm oreven a 45 cal in that rifle as well. Now that would be something and not taking away from the 25 cal or smaller-cals...

If I ever turned to the dark side, it would unquestionably be in the form of a Sumatra. They are the only PCPs that, to me, look gorgeous and work great. Sounds like you got some great shooters there.

I have to mirror what Manny says as I Love my 2500 as well as the .25 cal is a knockdown machine.They are just such awesome rifles in my honest opinion,and never miss a opportunity to show her off neither,lol. They're Looking good Manny!

Those rifles where really underpriced for the quality at 459.00 , the 500cc only got bumbed up 20 bucks, that now is the best buy for the money

Do have a moderator to quiet them down. real interested in the 25 carbine but need to get it around the marauder noise level fo here in so cal. 25 will be my next step -woody

My Sumatra long rifle shot with an LDC side by side with an NPSS was quiter, ask Perry, he was here at my house with his NPSS, and to be honest I was really surprised, but standing in front while he was shooting them both, definatly the Sumatra was quiter.

Now Maurader quite ? remember the Sumatra is a 90 FPE gun, so to get down to Maurader .22 noise is pretty unrealistic.

Good thing with the Sumatras is the powerweel, you can dial down your power and the noise too

Thanks for the info. Who makes your LDC? I was going to ask TKO if he makes one Cause with what I have heard from you the sumatra 2500 carbine in 25 will be my next goal. And keep the hunting photos coming. woody
