SAS Weld Defect

This is just a heads-up for those suffering from an underpowered Hatsan with the SAS mount.  Tonight I inserted a dental mirror into the receiver tube of my Webley Tomahawk and found out that I have a deep crater caused by the weld that attaches the SAS mount.  This was the reason that my rifle was very under powered and the piston slammed into the end of the tube.

So, you can't always fix them with a new seal and some elbow grease.

I spent about three hours with a brake cylinder hone wrapped with 220 grit sandpaper and got most of it out. I installed a new ARH seal and it's now shooting 15.5 ft lbs with a cut original spring. (I cut about 5 coils off and tried it in another rifle.)  I had intended to use an ARH Tarantula spring but it was too big to fit in the piston without heavy rubbing.
