Anschtuz 2025 Info-Help?

Well I just got my Christmas present to myself in the mail... I was able to find a Anschutz 2025 laminate stock used,

I'm looking for some info on the rifle.
The rifle came without any air in it so I'm waiting for the fill adapter to be able to
check if it holds air and then chrony it to make sure its functions properly.


But I have a few questions and am looking for more info on the rifle,
First off are these rifles known to be really difficult to cock?
I've used dozens of PCP(though non with the anschutz cocking style)
and non of them have been so difficult to cock, not even my .25 Hatsan BT65QE which
was a bear to cock. I'm almost worried I'm going to break the cocking handle is this norm?
any tips to free it up or what to check?

I was able to find the manual for the rifle but other than that I haven't been able to find much
info or even mention of the 2025.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything about that model but maybe the guy you bought it from can help?

Bear in mind, this was a 10m gun that Anschutz basically upped the power on without making many other changes.  So the cocking style, with that upward moving arm, is not ideal compared to the more modern Annies with side levers.  I'd be willing to bet the stouter cocking effort is simply the result of a heavier hammer spring.  But you can always pull the hammer spring out, make sure there is nothing broken or bound up in it.  After all, the gun is probably 15 years old or so. 

One note, the anschutz guns (to this day even) have a split breech design.  Meaning the rear half of the mounting rail, and the front half are not actually on the same breech block.  This is why many shooters have rails that connect the two.  Something stout is what you will want.  When AZ used to modify the 2002CA's for FT, he usually would add a rail made by Dave Matticks (think that is how you spell it).  Don't think Dave is still making rails, but Jon Harris in the UK or AJP Engineering should be able to assist.  You could also just get a reach back mounting rail (think BKL and Leapers both make them) and mount it on the front half of the breech (as that is connected to the barrel). 

Be very interested in where/who you got it from?  Have been looking for a 2020 for quite some time and have yet to actually come across one...or a 2025 for that matter.  But anyway, if you need any help or have any questions, shoot me a PM or email.  Been inside of a few of the more modern Annies and can't imagine this is that much different.

Thanks, I was super excited when it came up on the classifieds at a unbelievable price...
I shot my first season of FT this year and have done a ton of reading on all the top FT rifles out there in hopes of
getting one eventually... I was very blessed in this instance, I was online and check the classifieds within 4 minutes of it being posted
I was pretty sure it was a scam but messaged the guy right away just in case it wasn't and in the mean time
I did all my normal scam checks and couldn't find anything to mark it as a scam.

The seller got right back to me and it turned out it his uncle had passed away and the family had told him
to try and sell his air rifle, he was unfamiliar with airguns and didn't have the fill adapter for the rifle so I bought it "sold as is" guessing it would need at least a reseal.
Made him an offer and the whole deal was done in about 20minutes 

I'll be function checking it as soon as I get the adapter from PA.

Thanks for sharing the article, that's been the only real info I've been able to find on the 2025.

I wondered if the heavy spring was to blame but wanted to check and make sure I wasn't going to break something.
I took the action out and check the hammer and spring etc. everything seems fine.
I did get a tip from a guy in the UK, if you cock the rifle by opening the action then pulling back the shuttle
with you finger across the front of it, its a fair bit easier to cock 

Thanks for the tip on the breech I'll look into getting a sight base that connect the
two halves, I'll see what I can find but I'm thinking I could probably use a steyr base but I'll have to measure
the breech open and get a measurement from someone with a steyr.

I had and Anschutz 2025 years ago, one of my first air rifles. I don't remember the cocking effort, sorry. Overall the rifle performed well, but it was too loud for back yard use, not an issue of course at the range. My experience was very similar to the results Brad Troyer described in the attached review above. The rifle shot well, but I've had more satisfying results from the some of the other dedicated air gun makers. I guess if you build nothing but air guns, your attention is very focused.

Well I finally got out the camera so here are a few quick pictures:









There are quite a few blemishes and scratches on the stock, so depending how it ends up shooting I might look into refinishing the stock.
But I'm pretty excited to try some FT with it, with its target stock and butt-hook, and I'll be shopping for a adjustable hamster at some point as well.

Good news! the shoots great and is holding air so far! 

Well I got the fill adapter in from PA went to screw it onto the tank only to find I had ordered
the wrong adapter, I had thought that I needed a 200 DIN adapter but it seems I actually needed a 300DIN adapter.
which at first had me pretty disappointed until I realized my JoeB guppy tank had 300DIN threads,
so I unhooked the microbore hose and the the anschutz fill adapter threaded right in 
I only had ~2800 in the tank but here is what I got on my first chronograph string, It was shot in two parts as
I've noticed long shot string have a tendency to lose connection with the chrony and then you loose all the info...

So a few things I noticed while I was doing this string, if you look the second string starting at shot 12,
I noticed if I seated them firmly with my thumb the spread inbetween shots dropped done to 1-3fps,
where as when I was just quickly loading and shooting there is a slightly larger variation.
with this noted I'm excited to see what kind of string I will get with a full fill and careful seating of the pellets.

Alright finally got time to run of a full chrony string with this rifle, so from a 3000psi fill
and making sure to seat the pellet fully with my thumb, I got 90 shots with an extreme spread of
only 11fps! and 88 of those shot were within 10fps. Unfortunately my phone lost connection
with my Caldwell G2 on shot 88 which results in the string being deleted, so I can't show you the full string today,(maybe another time)
but I had been keeping a close eye on the string as I've found the G2 crashes sometimes on the long strings(above 40-50 shots)
So I was keeping the statistics written down.

So 90 shots, 3000 psi fill ES 11fps
Max FPS: 832
Min FPS: 821

Using AA 10.3gr pellets for just shy of 16fpe.

Very nice shot count, and the best ES I've ever chronographed so I'm looking forward to doing some pellet & accuracy testing.
90 shots should be enough for all my regional matches witch will be a nice change as in the past I've brought my tank along with me through the course to top off with.
