First PCP ?

A 28 grain .22 round?  I used the polymag shorts and my gun is very particular (the FX Wildcat).  Seems to have been made around the JSB 18.13 round.  Hole on hole at 30 yards.  1/2" groups at 50 yards....

He went with .25 Mrod not .22 and seems to me domes almost always group tighter than HP styles with the exception of the RWS .22 Super H points. You ever try those in your FX? Great for 30 yard or less pesting in .22 and super consistent for me in my Disco and 2289g.
I really like the looks of that FX especially in the laminate stock.

So I ended up ordering a synthetic stock .25 marauder direct from Crossman this morning. Took advantage of the 25% off coupon and free shipping Fridays. Still need to order a pump and some pellets. Any recommendations on .25 pellets. I have one tin of H&Ns from when I had my Xl 725.

I purchased mine with the synthetic stock.  It's a solid, soft feel stock and I thought better for out in the field.  I would be too worried with a laminate or wood stock on this particular gun as it gets used the most.  I will give the Super H points a try; most of my pesting is 30 yards or less or I use my carnivore.  The polymags were hitting with such force on Friday.  Rats would just stop dead.   A little bounce here or there.  A little helicopter tail, but not much else.  Loving those pellets.  If I want to hit the rat in the eye, I use the JSB 18.13s.  If I just want a head shot, the polymags.  Sounded like someone hitting a hanging wet carpet with a bat when the polymag connected with a rat.

I've not tried the RWS Super H points in .25 caliber. Reviews I've seen for the .25 were mixed / bad.

These rats are the size of your foot WITHOUT the tail.  They had enough mass to make a decent sound when hit.  There is nothing more fun on this planet then pesting rats at night.  One small joy on killing these rats is they are around our FOOD.  They are at a pig and cow farm getting into the food and getting around the animals.  We need to prevent this due to money loss and possible disease.  And, cuz they're rats, military style pesting is okay.  You hit 'em where you can hit em.  They will eventually die.  Sure, go for the head shot, go for the heart/lung, but if you can only shoot the last 1/3, go ahead!  Aim for the spine or enough meat for a bleed out.  It is more important to rid the farm of these pests then to make sure each shot is ethical.  Sounds bad, but these rats are big enough, kill zones are easy to hit.

When I order my pump I am going to order some JSB 25.39's. I found a partial tin of the JSB 33.95's and a full tin of H&N barracuda hunters out in the shed over the weekend. Right now I'm waiting to see if any pumps go on sale on black Friday.
