1720P or Prod screw-on LDC from Rocker1

Hey guys, I have been talking to Dave aka Rocker1 about a Screw-on LDC for my 1720P and that I can also use on my other Prods too if I wanted too.  Dave has came through with a great little LDC that is really quiet for my 1720P. I have to work on the mechanical noises now as that is about all I can hear from the report of the airgun.

Key points of the Screw-on LDC.
•   The Screw on LDC installs effortlessly, looks excellent and light weight.
•   Great for traveling with to make 1720P or Prod back to factory length to fit in gun cases or backpacks.
•   Foster fill port is not obstructed by LDC. You don’t have to remove Screw on LDC to refill airgun!
•   No pellet clipping, it is inline and very secure to shroud.
•   You are able to use Screw on LDC on other 1720P or Prod’s.

I would highly recommend Dave for you are in the market for a 1720P or Prod LDC.

Dave also makes some great slip on LDC that would fit your 13XX and tame that bark.

I have the slip on ldc from rocker1 and it works well. I would have preferred the screw on one though.

Your right, I just checked, and it's the cap that won't go on. It is a pain to fill however compared to not being on. It does a fantastic job, but I prefer the ability to use the factory cap without modding it.

Always let whomever your dealing with purchasing any LDC your cal & fpe before purchasing a LDC so they can meet your needs.

I'm hoping this does the trick to help tame the sound nuisance from my Prod.  New to PCP in general and had no idea how quiet a Prod would be.  After having to add this LDC, I may as well have just gotten the full size Maurader.  Plus my length will be longer due to the LDC but will be offset by a little with an AR-15 stock adapter and collapsible stock.  Either way, I'm keeping the Prod and enjoy it very much already.  I have block walls in my backyard that reflect sound terribly so although the Prod's not that loud at all, I need it quiet as can be.

once you tame the shot being fired than you'll start hearing the mechanical side of the Prod. Basically the hammer slap.
I like the NBH from War to take care the hammer slap/bouncing.

I received mine in the mail yesterday from Dave, and am very pleased with it. Not only does it look good, it works well too. My prod wasn't exactly loud before, but I shoot indoors and wanted it to be quieter. Now the loudest sound is the pellet hitting the target.

Rocker1/Dave's LDC was delivered to my house today.  I quickly ripped open the box to inspect what all the buzz was about.  The simulated carbon fiber really pulled on optical illusion on my eyes.  I literally could not focus on it.  LOL.  Anyway, I wasted no time removing the factory shroud cap off and threaded this bad boy on.  It's light as can be.  It looks great on my Prod.  Although now it's longer, I believe it's probably still shorter than a factory Marauder rifle.

I ran out into the backyard and set up my table and installed my cheap grip pod to get a steady shot to put this to the test.  I wanted to make sure the POI didn't shift and have it be due to my own off-hand shooting ability.  I only have about 25 yards to shoot from but to me I detected non POI shift at all.  It's still accurate as can be.  In fact, I think it's more accurate now.  I believe it's due to a psychological effect being that it's now quite silent and I don't have to attempt to shoot in a clandestine manner due to neighbors.  I can concentrate on shot placement and my own body mechanics and everything else that comes into play attempting to get off accurate shots. 

I did start to have some problems though.  First my shots started missing their mark to the point I was over 6 inches off target.  Then I started to lose shots.  I couldn't get my Prod to shoot a pellet anymore for the life of me.  I wondered if somehow the LDC was somehow causing pressure issues or if it somehow clipped and subsequently caused a double feed or something.  I had to press really hard on my trigger.  Then I couldn't shoot at all!!!  I was wondering what it could be as it shot fine yesterday.  The only thing different was the LDC.  Anyway, I'm a tool.  It ended up being my trigger stop screw had worked its way loose and was keeping the trigger from releasing the hammer.  Duh.  Time for some blue Loctite! 

Once I got that bit of business sorted out I was back on target.  And I mean really on target!  Like I said, I think it's something psychological in knowing I'm not going to be tipping off my neighbors to my new backyard hobby because the muzzle report is all but gone.  Even dry fires are much attenuated.  I didn't break out any decibel meters or anything as it's beginning to get dark out earlier now here in the desert.  Perhaps I'll update more later.  I have yet to chrony any of my shots so I don't know if there are any fps gains or losses.  But it matters not to me as my repeatability and shot groups are tight, tight, tight.

I used to do better write ups in the past but I think the GMO's are getting the better of me.  So take it for what it is.  To sum things up, I love this thing and it's easily worth the money paid to bring a smile to my face, whilst keeping my hobby out of the limelight, so to speak.
