I have a bunch of 1400 parts I found in an old closet when I moved here. . but it isn't enough to put together into any thing. I had an old 140 as a kid and they were great little pumpers.

I'll be sure to hit you up if I need something! Is the stock there?

Yup a slight bend in the rear breech screw. I was surprised it came out quite effortlessly!


This was quite a pain!! I remember the 140 had a different type of bushing down there, but it was equally as tough to get out.

I don't know why the white spacer is only this long. Is that normal? Doesn't look to have been broken. Just dirty, like a street walker.


My 140 had a crushed poly tuned. This has a sleeve. It's hard to tell in the pic but it was cut up a bit.


What??? How are the inside as clean as a brand new car? That area that is sanded was from me. That part was chewed up and wasn't slide out. It was dragging on the tube. So I had to dremel it down.

Now, the cartridge would have came out spotless as well if I hadn't oiled it up. Hoping it would pump and shoot.

Just wiped off the oil with a paper towel. I went inside and cleaned out the mess I made.

Rob the stock is gone for the most part. some one butchered it up and painted it black ... the barrel looks like someone tried to cut groves for a scope or something on it. there are some parts you might be able to use. there is a trigger group with out the safty, compression tube is good I think, the pump arm and all that is there . If I can I will take a pic and send it to you in a PM. I wouldn't charge you anything for them if you want them, just pay shipping is all.

Well got several coats on this bad boy. Not looking too bad. I still need to take care of the front plug and breech cover. I do want to make sure it's holding and functioning 100% before I put those 2 things back on. Still needs to be refinished though.


Trying to get that poly tube the rift height with the right curvature.

You spray painted the barrel? Or is it just me? We have a Gander Mountain within 1/2M of the house, & I found liquid & paste bluing kits. Stock finishing kits as well. Put the Birchwood/Casey liquid bluing kit on my wish list for payday, along with the same brand, " True Oil" gun stock finish in 3oz bottle. I like their liquid bluing. Rub on for really nice finish. They have a liquid rust/old bluing remover too that comes in the bluing kit. It'll make easy work of cleaning out the stamped lettering/numbers without wearing them out/down.

I have done motorcycle parts with VHT black epoxy chassis paint and found it pretty darn durable and has a satin sheen. You can find it at any Auto-Parts store. Thought about using it on old Airguns.

The 'off' white spacer between the barrel and pump tube comes in two pieces. I believe you may be missing the rear piece.

I get the stuff at a Kelly Moore that sells industrial paint. I apply it in 2 stages first stage is a 1:1 mix with the epoxy and epoxy activator. 2nd stage is a 1:4 mix with the base tint urethane with urethane activator. It's a real messy process and is very thick. When it's all said and done it has a very nice finish. It looks to be very slick and slippery, but it's actually quite the opposite. I used this on the railings here at the property. These tenants surprising haven't damaged it. During move ins and outs when large furniture is constantly being placed, dragged, banged, and rubbed. They've held up extremely well. Not to mention my property is right across the street from the SF/OAK bay. I figured if all these conditions can't bother the finish on the rails. They should do quite well on a air rifle barrel and tube? I'll let you know if things go south.
   But yes I put it in my sprayer. I had to do the work quick. When I did the rails I applied with a brush. I had to keep replacing the brush. It would start falling apart after a while.

The 2-part paints are far more durable. The 2-part urethane they painted my old cobraII with was easy to wash & held it's gloss way better than the stock enamel. It was the two part Urethane (polar white) we used on the Duramax diesel semis we built back in the day at Ford before I retired. Slick, hard surface to that paint. I like the Birchwood/Casey bluing/stock oil stuff I'm picking up Thursday for this sort of work. Came out pretty good on an old CVA Kentucky percussion rifle kit I built years ago.

Yea in the sprayer it was much easier to get it smooth and even. Though it should self level, but you never really want to rely on that. I just had to make sure I cleaned the sprayer out real good.
   Well I put her together to see what else I have to do beside the obvious. Only took me 2 tries to get the height and curve right on the poly tube TP. No air leak whatsoever!! Now, I had to make sure she was worth the time for a refinish. I did a quick sight in on blank paper with tape to get it close. Took it to targets shortly after. Here are 2, 5 shot groups I did last night with 3 pumps. After first target I adjusted sight slightly.

   That project is really coming along great! Impressive groups! She appears to have a good bbl. your hard work is really paying off.

It looks real nice and that paint sounds interesting. The next time I need to paint a gun I'll have to look into it.
