I had one and returned it about a year ago. It had a few issues, mainly the cocking lever fell from the retainer on nearly every shot, and it is very tedious to load (about 9 separate actions before you pull the trigger). Although it is an underlever, it is not a true fixed barrel design like a Diana 48/52 sidelevers, Walther underlevers or even the Hatsan Dominator. There is a barrel within the shroud that slides forward to load and back to fire, allowing the potential for some slop, not like a true fixed barrel that remains in constant alignment with the receiver.

I'll agree that for the price it is a good deal, just be aware of the design limitations. I suspect that Hatsan is phasing out the model, hence the price.

Well Bill, after sleeping on it I decided to pull the trigger....$122.90 delivered after the wick5 -$5 coupon. The first one had a beautiful walnut stock, I just got frustrated with the cocking lever flopping down after every shot, maybe this one will perform as designed. Oh, and be sure to lock-tite the little brass thingy that releases the lever....it fell off and I spent an hour looking for it on the floor.

I was going to order some pellets on the same order, but the last time they just threw the loose tins into the rifle box and they beat the *(&^ out of a Hatsan 95 I ordered and had to send back. They should know better, I'll not order pellets with a rifle again from them.

That's a great price. I had a .177 100x. Sold it to a bud. He started having that problem with the lever and somehow put some washers behind the ball and fixed it. He shoots it accurately at a 100 yards. I never had a problem with it . I still have a .177 155. I sold a .22 155 to another friend when I found  the .177 on sale. I prefer .177. If I'd bought a 155 first I wouldn't have bought the 100x. Same gun basically the 155 is just bigger. Never had a problem with any of them.

Tim, that's a good idea with the washers.
John, that seems to be a common problem with the lever falling down, Hatsan said to carefully hit it with a rubber mallet to work it down so it will latch properly?

I'm guessing they mean hit the front of the muzzle to seat it back farther?? If I have an issue I'll email Hatsan Service to get that in writing....lol.

BTW, looks like I got the last .22, they only show .177 & .25 in stock now. Hatsan International site now shows only the Vortex gas ram version, guess that is why they are closing out the spring version at this price.

John that's exactly what they said. It worked somewhat but occasionally still drops down.

Ok guys I am the bud that lefteyeshot sold the 100x to and all I did to fix the problem of the cocking lever dropping when I shot the gun was put some washers in front of the spring to shim up the lock to hold the cocking lever tighter, you could also try a stronger spring but this is what I had on hand, ether should work. I got the washers in a kit from Harbor Freight and it is the 3/16 washer that I used, It took 6 of them to shim it where It will stay in place until I release it. I used a 3/16 drill bit to put the spring on then the washers then slid the washers and the spring inside the housing then held the spring and pulled out the drill bit then slid locking shaft over spring pushed in and lined up hole for brass bolt, blue lock tight and lock down and done no more problems with cocking lever falling....hope this helps...

My 100X/.22 arrived today and I am pleasantly surprised. It came double boxed and neither box showed signs of the UPS Gorilla Toss Competition. It was in the sealed factory plastic bag with the (useless) plastic bipod, a scope stop and allen wrenches. I think it must be a late production model with perhaps some improvements over the one I had a year ago and returned. The cocking lever catch seems to have a stronger spring, in 50+ shots it didn't drop once. Also, the barrel seems to lock tighter in the closed position, it takes a good tug to release it to the load position, a good thing.

I cleaned the barrel and ran about 50+ RWS Superdomes thru it with the open sights. It only dieseled twice and shot about a one inch group @ 35' without touching the sights.....not bad considering my eyes and open sights  . The wood is very nice, as is the blueing, fit & finish. The cocking is smooth as is the shot cycle...I haven't done the trigger mod and may not, it feels pretty good as is. I may just keep it as my open sight squirrel getter for the time being.

Very impressed for a new, not refurbed gun that only cost $123 delivered! BTW, Field Supply now has the price back to $244.99.

Yep, quite accurate for an out of the box gun, it should only get better with a few hundred rounds down the tube. I think Hatsan must have taken note of the returns and repairs for the "flopping lever syndrome" and installed a stronger spring in the catch. Also, when returning the bolt from the load to the fire position, it is a much more solid engagement which should benefit accuracy....the first one i had was pretty sloppy.

If my guess is correct that this is a late production gun, it looks like Hatsan has upped the design and QC.

A quick update: After about 150 rounds I ran the 100X over the chrony.....very pleased with the results, 888 FPS average with CPHP's (14.3gr) for an FPE of 25. Accuracy is good with open sights, the limitation being my less than 20/20 eyesight. So far, one of the best bang for the buck AG's I've bought.
