OK, maybe this isn't the best method. Only these 3 out of about 500 showed visible damage.

With NO real juggling of pellets happening, they vibrate on one another causing this.
Ideally you want some movement so displaced lead chaff etc can settle out under the pile being cleaned.
Find a bath in Naptha while in a screen basket shook by hand is tough to beat. Removes OEM lubes and lead chaff falls threw the screen.
