BigBore scopes?

 Since most of the BigBore guns are used for hunting, i figure most of you are not putting huge target scopes on your guns and i was wondering what you used. I've tried some 3x9x40's and 50's on the 909 but think i am going to put a fixed 6x swift on my .458, to hold weight down as much as anything. Plus, simpler is better when in the field imo.  So what scopes do you guys have mounted on your BB's?  J

My father has shot many a Muley and Pronghorn at long range with his 4X Weavers.

 Exactly, for many years the 4x was a standard and for the close ranges BB's are fired at in most cases, would probably be fine, or as you said, it will do long range too. Thats probably as good a choice for many as any.

I like the 2-7x32

very good for fast target aquisition at the lowest power 2, ant the 7 power it's plenty at the short airgun distances, and I only take headshots

B ut I have mainly the 3-9x40 monted on my guns since I already had them

 I could see that being(2x7) a great choice too, at very close range the 2x setting would be perfect,  What kind are they?  J

I have a Leapers 2-7x32 on my Sumatra Carbine, and I'm ordering one for when my 909s comes back from the power tune

On my career 202 I have a Simmons 22mag 4x32 and it is absolutely perfect.  Quick target recognition, focused to infinity, small and lightweight a perfect addition to any big bore.

     I got a SWEET deal on a Zeiss Conquest 1.8-5.5X38mm and just love it.  A bit big for the power range, but I've found that it helps balance out my 909 guns' double airtubes quite nicely for offhand shooting.  I leave it at 1.8 while stalking, and sometimes bump it up to 2.5 if the stand doesn't have any cover to terribly close.  5.5 is plenty to get a good zoom on predators in the thick vegetation I hunt in.

On a Big Bore anything above 5x is really only for sighting in the gun, I don't think that any of the headshot I made on porkers was at more magnification then a 5x

i 4x16x44 mil dot scopes  the mildots come in very hanys if u shoot at different ranges

 Took ya'lls advice and mounted a sweet little scope on the 201. It is sold at planet optics and is made by a new company called Kruger optics.  It's a 2x8x32 with a preset 50 yard parallax at 8x, almost 0 parallax at 2x. Very light, bright and a quality product. Best of all is 3 things, the parent company is well known, Columbia sportswear. Numer two is that the scope is assembled in the US with both foreign and domestic components. The 3rd thing is that these scopes are selling for under 100 bucks. Mounted it on the 201 and the small size and 2x8 magnification are absolutely perfect on this gun.  J

 OK here is a couple pics and i want you to compare the turrets(caps off) on this Kruger scope to your conquest's, i would almost swear they are identicle to some i saw. I know the conquest is made in the US too, and wondered if someone wasn't using someone elses parts. This is the most incredible 32mm scope i've ever owned, hands down including comparison against a 33mm leupold 2x7 VX1 and several nikons. This scope is so bright and clear, with no off center blackout problems.. plus it really magnifies in a way thats noticeably better than say the nikon. On 8X this Kruger magnifies a LOT better, plus is clearer and brighter than the Nikon on 7x.  It's a deal. Fully multicoated lenses... the works.

  Here is their line of scopes, only the ones with an american flag were assembled here. The 2x8 is the one for $79.00, The 139.00 sidefocus looks intrieging
