1377 shotgun

In my boredom the other day I tried shooting a tiny amount of salt out the barrel of my 1377.  The target shot was from 2' away.  I have been shooting spiders and flies. It obliterates them. Can't wait for the big banana spiders this summer.

Now that is awesome. Just be careful you don't erode your barrel's rifling or let the salt sit long enough to start rusting.

That's cool. How much salt and how many pumps? Definitely gonna try that this summer.

I wonder if you could make a salt slug so that you could load it like a pellet, but it blows apart when fired?

Here is about how much salt I have been using. The pellet is a premier 10.5 g. I push the little piece of toilet paper down the barrel with a shish-ka-bob stick. It works pretty well.  Gonna crush up some rice and try that next. BTW, shish-ka-bob sticks shoot really well too. I shot a fly and there was nothing left.  Good fun.

you could also try ground walnut shell used for reptile bedding and blasting media.
 (Would not be corrosive to the barrel)

I muzzle load qtips in my 1322 for cockroaches and spiders in the house. 2 pumps max, otherwise the cotton comes apart badly. A qtip dismembers a roach quite thoroughly...

I've wrapped 12-15 rice kernels with tissue and fired out of my 1322. Makes a mess of black widows.

This is funny. Reminds me of being a kid. I have shot sand, shishkabob skewers, part of a nail, qtips, all the same stuff as yall. Amazing how all of our minds work the same.

You can also make it a spear gun using the little chinese bamboo skewers.  Tried it in a 2100 and they are a good fit in the .177 barrel.  Your diy bug-a-salt is cool.

Does a skewer do anything to the barrel I tried it and it works good but I guess my 1377s barrel ain't in good shape anyway.
