Mrod air leak

Can anyone tell me if the Marauder and Armada will hold at least 2000 psi for a reasonable time, about a month?
I have done new research and learned that pressure gage body o-rings may be cut during the install.
Apparently several had this problem.  I am will to fix this, but I am asking about a typical Mrod pressure holding standby time.

So you want to see if someone can tell you that either of these guns will hold pressure for an undefined amount of time?
Can't happen, or they would be lying.

Anyway - I had a Mrod last year and it held 3K psi until I shot it out. Never leaked during the time I had it.

Those that are air tight ... Don't bleed down but at most 100# a month if that.

With a Poppet valve, Filler valve, Gauge/Adapter & 5 o-rings that could leak ... PCP's can be hit/miss as too air tight worthiness

Is yours not holding air for an indefinite period ?
 is it leaking down in any specific period ?
 Are you trying to find a leak ?

One of the most common spots for a Marauder or Discovery to develop a leak, (even if it has held air in the past), is at the gauge itself.
 Naturally, and has been stated already,  it is not the only place that a leak can develop,... but it is one of the more COMMON places a leak can develop. I have replaced the valves on both of my Marauders for this reason.

 A simple test to check is to remove the action from the stock, fill the gun to full pressure, and dab a little bit of soapy water over the "Weep hole" on the back side of the gauge. if you see bubbles slowly forming, that can be a cuse for your pressure to slowly drop.
 you can also dab some soapy water around the fill fitting and end cap to check for bubbles there.

 Another simple test to see if the poppet is leaking, is to close the bolt with the gun fully pressurized, and put a small balloon over the barrel.
Use a rubber band to hold the balloon tightly sealed around the barrel, and let it sit for a day of two.
 If the balloon starts to inflate, you have a good probability that the poppet valve is leaking.

I do not have an Mrod yet. I am just trying to find reasons to not buy one, lol.
A leaker would do it.

 I don't own a marauder yet , but the weakest link in any of my other PCP's has been the guage .

I have two Marauders that had leaks at various times...  BOTH times, it was the crappy pressure gauge that was leaking.

The only leak I had on a Marauder, was at the Foster fitting in the pressure tube end cap.  It, too, was an easy fix.

Thanks for the reply.  Was the source the leak gauge itself or the fittings and /or improper fitting??

The gauge, itself was the problem.

  Look up Bordon Tube it is a flat brass thin wall tube that is set in a coil when it is pressurized the tube wants to straighten thus moving the dial . the problem is either solder connection at the gauge port or at the end of the tube leaks and the cheaper the gauge the more likely to have problems

Thanks for that.  Ive already been looking for a higher quality gauge.  I have found 1" replacements that will fit in the stock, but I also want more sweep in my usable range, at least 200 degrees.  2000 psi max for the disco.  Nothing 1" small can give that.  I guess the mechanicals take up too much space in a Bordon tube type.

It appears that on the discos, and some and Mrods, the hole in the tank, the pressure gauge pokes thru, is left unfinished on the inside and  the o-rings get damaged passing by them on assembly.
The combination of this and leaking gauges are the bane of many a Crosman product.

I am coming to the conclusion that a re-assembly will be the first thing I do, if I have rapid leak down
and certainly annually to clean up corrosion.

Yea, I would have a 4K gauge on a 3K tank.  But not on a 2K Disco.
