I just did my review of my new trigger set up on these guns (another subject), but this is about the guns themselves .....

I must say I love these guns. They are pretty small in stature and very big on power, What a great little springer. It is a perfect walk around springer for hunting ... 50+ yards shots at starlings are well withing the power range of these guns for sure.

I have my 177 set up with 10.5 gr Kodiaks at 845fps+, that a great flat shooting power house pest gun. My 22 is shooting 14.3gr CPHP at about 770fps ... just awesome, flat shooting with enough energy for ground squirrels at 35+ yards for sure and a very real threat to starlings in the 50 yard range.

I bought these guns on sale for ~$87.00 and that included shipping. It is one of the very best deals I got on an airgun that is a true workhorse hunting gun and one that if I fall off a cliff and it goes down the embankment and into the river, I did not loose $400.00.

+1! I got robbed though, mine was $89 at PA. On sale for $99 then 11% off and free shipping 'cause I spent over $150 with other stuff. Great buy, lotsa power and crazy accurate! I got the .25 for closer ranges but it does great out to 40 yards with the lighter FTTs/19.91 H&Ns.

Ya, I thought of getting the 25, but was concerned about the range where I live, almost all my shots are 35 + yards and I was worried about pellet trajectory so I got the 177. My 22 version is very flat shooting too and I have that sighted in a 35 yds along with my 177..

If another sale comes up,I may get the 25, just to try out ;-  )

I have an Edge .25  I got off PA for $99 with the shipping. At first I wasn't all that impressed with it, but after it broke in more it is a great shooting rifle. The only 2 gripes I have is trying to keep a scope from slipping off, and the "iron" sights. The stop they have on it is set WAY to far forward for most people including myself. I put a one piece mount with lock tight and set screw and it still wants to move back, and has left a healthy gouge in my blueing  This leads to the other gripe is the open sights. Although accurate enough, trying to get a good sight picture is hard because of the globe on the front and the huge red dot for the front sight. I guess I can look into spending some $ and getting the mount pinned to the stock, or upgrading with some sort of after market open sights. But for the sake of reality I will either trade it at a loss or just use it for tin cans. Like I said it IS a great shooting rifle, if I could fix the scope problem and open sights it would be an outstanding value. JMO, I'm sure others would find  a better opinion of it than I.

Had the same gripe about the front globe. Easy fix was to take a sharp blade and very carefully cut it off, it actually cuts pretty easy.
For the scope, I took Hatsan's stop plate, loctited a screw and put it in the very front hole then put the back of the front ring against it. The rifle is my Edge .22 Vortex in a Striker stock. The scope mounts are Hawke Reach Forward 1" dovetail mounts reversed so I could get the scope farther back. The back one also has just a screw loctited in behind the rear ring in the very last hole. SO far, works great, my scope hasn't budged and with those mounts, it let me bring the scope back more than far enough for me to shoot easier and not hunched over.

p.s.-I'm kind of a sucker for Hatsan's, especially the Edge and .25... if you ever wanna get rid of it, let me know.

Thanks for the pic and tip on the scope Steve. I did cut the globe even with the top of the front site last night. Makes a world of difference in the sight picture. Once I broke it in it is a decent little carbine, starting to like it more and more. With the improvement in the sight picture I might not need a scope on it now, but your tip will help when I do scope it. (It groups good at 20 meters with open sights, most of my shooting is at that distance).  Thanks!

If or when you decide to scope it and want to go one piece mount vs 2, you can always just loctite a screw in the very back hole for a stop and use one of these to get the scope back farther. I already have one and it works great so I just ordered 2 more from Amazon (I'll get them in 2 days vs 4 and the little extra I paid is less than shipping from PA) to go with the 2 Centerpoint scopes I ordered from from the post in the Bargain Gate.

I'm using one of those on my 95 with the scope stop in the factory installed position. With a CP 4-16X40 AO scope the eye relief is perfect. I also use one on my Benji LE with a CP 3-9X40 AO.

Thanks for the input Ed. You and Steve have helped me with this problem, much appreciated. Can't wait to set it up and try it out. i'm just using a generic 4x32 on my edge right now, but intend to upgrade when $$$ allows it.  Ya gotta love this site, I know I do.

I've read some pretty good reviews of Centerpoint scopes (and a couple bad ones) so when I saw this in the Bargain Gate I took a chance and ordered 2. For $29.99 + shipping for a Centerpoint 3-9x32 Mildot scope with IR why not and the 30 yards or less distances I shoot, they should work just fine.  Figure I'll try one on the Webley as it didn't come with a scope and the other on the now rebuilt and sorta tuned Optimus that only had a 4x32.

I also ordered 2 of those Accushot scope mounts from Amazon to put them in. Cost me a couple bucks more, but I'll get them in 2 days vs 4 and the little extra I paid Amazon is less than PA's shipping.
