It's Been A While Since A Gray Got A Squeeze...

Hey bros! I'm just checking in with a Nutter down!

I haven't hammered on the local Gray population in a few years.

I've noticed quite the increase in feeder raiders since I loaded up on suet, black-oil sunflower seeds and cracked corn for the song birds.

So today I decided to cull off this male.

He was caught trying to leave the scene but stopped on the edge of my side lawn to tear up the sod and pop a nut out!

He sat up at 23 yards with the nut in his mouth. I set the crosshairs between his eyes and let a domed Benji fly from the BT65.

The Nutter dropped and with a twitch of the tail expired.

It has been a few years since they have been a problem. I don't mind them taking a snack here and there.

But when you look out and there are seven Nutters dining... Then they're digging in the lawn... What's next? Moving into the attic?

I'll try and thin the males out. We will see if that keeps them in check.

The nut that was in his mouth went flying when the Benji Dome smacked him in the head.

I should be able to take one or two out each weekend. It's a challenge trying to determine the sex before letting the lead fly.
